General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Re: Headphone Volume

Okay so what you're trying to do is balance all kits to each other first so they sound the same in volume when you switch between different kits. Then you want the headphone volume to be loud enough to hear over/level with the acoustic noise of your hybrid kit?
Have I got that correct?

Not having the 32g card expansion myself I cannot comment. But I have heard other people mention about having the right type of card. Jman is the person best to ask about it. You could probably send him a private message.

Can you replicate it at home? At first glance it seems that you have A LOT of very large sound files being played at once and the module simply cannot cope. There is a polyphony with the module (though I am not sure what that number is) But I noticed this a long time ago when you hit the crash on the ride channel and then follow it with a roll straight afterwards on the bow, you'll hear the crash sound get cut off. I am gonna guess the polyphony is maybe 50 or something.
I have never had your particular problem happen to me though, but I do get latency sometimes when playing hihat pedal on 8th notes, lots of broken 16th's on ride, ghosting on snare and broken 16th on kick drum, at fast-ish tempos, yeah, and that's WELL annoying.

Are you still selling the 2Box parts ? If so
I would be interested in a 10" pad with L arm
and 2 14" Cymbal pads with arms (If you have them)
and 3 Rack clamps.
Could you give me a price posted to Swansea Sth Wales.
If you would like to text my mobile my number is 07414915140
Thank`s

Hey there, Swansea drummer here also and a long time 2box user. Good to hear there's another one of us in Swansea who play this kit.

I'm sure it can be done but it would have to be a mapping within logic and not the drumit5. Maybe someone else can help with this.
#756
Then you have to go through each channel of the kit and match the midi notes. It won't take long. However getting the hihat to trigger logic properly is a ball ache. I never managed to do it. The same goes for cymbal chokes.
#757
So you're using The kit only to record, you're not using the module as a sound source?

so you want the line in to not be passed to the output, only to headphones?

I am not sure, but I think only the HiHat channel can be hihat trigger. Although that channel can also be other trigger types, none of the others can be set to hihat.

Okay first up, when you swap a trigger (internal for trigit) on a gig, you will need to make some on the fly parameter adjustments. I am gonna guess the internal ones require a little more gain than the trigit ones to achieve the same dynamics, but without knowing for sure your internal triggers, I am only guessing. And of course with any gain adjustment will require threshold adjustments too. Same will go for rim trigger if your internal ones have them, the trigits do. So perhaps it would be an idea to do a swap at home, make a note of the settings for the trigit ones and have it to hand (or memorise it) in case you do get a failure on a gig.

Which type of mesh (1-3 ply) will also affect this. Like I say, perhaps give it try at home first and make notes.

When triggering from mylar heads, it's a good practice to tune the drums to the same pitch as the samples yours using. Do that and you'll not notice they're triggered, they'll come across as mic'd up! Setting for mylar head will require a lot less gain than mesh heads.

Other than that I think there's not much else unless anyone else can think of something.

Ah good to know. If you need any advice, hit me up here. I am still using mine and they're holding up okay (touch wood)
You gonna trigger from Mesh or Mylar heads?

The DDrum Legacy / Re: Found my old DD3 snare pad!
January 23, 2017, 04:21:17 PM
Your sensitivity is on max? Does it have to be that high to achieve optimal gain (0db on maximum hits)?

That's very high if so. I didn't think the old dd3 pads were shy on gain.

Alternatively you could convert the dd3 pad very easily to use with a 2box (or similar) module. Just on trigit trigger would do the trick perfectl as it just mounts on the rim. Could even use a mesh head with it then.

Any thoughts to the strike pro audio brief audio demo up on YouTube? Personally it sounds a lot better than their more recent offerings, but it's not really any more realistic than the 2box kit, if anything, it's not quite as realistic. To me anyway. But I'm waiting on the official derrick roddy demo coming soon.

If it's coming out of your phone no matter what, it's probably the headphone jack on your phone or the cable. Do you have another device to play through the module to check?

Make sure you're not in trig settings/unit mode. You'll hear lots of lag if you're in this mode. So always be in kit mode.
Other than that I'm not sure.
