yeah I believe it will. The universal triggering feature is what will probably appeal to folks with Roland/yamaha pads.

I think the same, the mimic is a fantastic product for the guy that can spend £2200+ on the module alone, but out of all edrummers, I would put that market into the top 10% perhaps. For the guys (like me) that don't or will never have that kind of money, £700 approx for a drumit3 will be easy. The option for it could seriously do with being seen and heard out there in Marketing land. It would still have a good customer base.

Anyone have any more news of release date of this? I plan to get rid of my TD15 module for it. So I expect (or hope) to be one of the first buyers, pending stocks of course!

Hi hat, this might be obvious, make sure it's in the hihat channel, a working stereo (TRS to TRS cable)
In unit mode - HHT selected as trigger type, gain set to where max hit peak at 0db, threshold about -36-40, cross talk on low (but try off for now) curve on normal.

Just thought I'd suggest it. Wrong trigge type will give you open only sound.

Yeah I see what's happening from the video. I'd put money on it it's iffy wiring somewhere, cable jack socket on module or the controller.
#666
Personally I prefer this feature, ask to save because so easy to make a massive error and not being able to remember what you (or someone else) might have done to go backwards.

Tunable samples, you mean when you're building your own DSDNs? The option on the right of the app which you can get it's unable range? So tunable dsdn = little/no latency, no tuning = latency issues (given the conditions... lots of cymbals, notes being player, foot hats, noisy bassists, low frequencies at high volumes etc) ?
#668
Never having this issue before, that is a strange one. Do you know anyway else with a kit you can try out your hihat controller with their module and their hi hat controller with your module? It sounds like to me a wiring problem somewhere. The module interprets 4 things (if I am correct) with hi hat. Voltage across the top and the sleeve of a jack socket, Voltage between the sleeve and ring, as well as when sleeve and ring are terminated and the variation between closed and open with the circuitry that utilised magnetism (that's my poor-ass way of interpreting not having a grounding in the electronics) So if termination between tip and ring (supposedly) when you pinch the edge makes it "chick" it sounds like to me something is up with how it's wired. Either in the jack socket, the cable connected or the socket on the module.

I'd suggest having one rubber 2box or similar cymbal pad just for this instance. Muting the cymbal will kill the way it triggers and no dampening will make the natural sound of stick on wood too audible.

Unless someone else has a better idea, that's mine.

When you use Gen16 with the kit, I am assuming you don't get latency? Since I have been using a Roland module just for hihats, I haven't had any, even with a noisy bassist. I have come to a conclusion that it is a processor limitation of the module, exemplified when there's low bass frequencies near the kit.

wow... that was a long read, but I LOVE you're enthusiasm. And you're totally right about persevering with it. We have all had blips with it, but the work rounds make it worth it. It really is an awesome product that for some reason, 70% of drummers don't get. And a few that do but still go with the big guns. Don't get me wrong, I actually like all the Roland kits, they work and require little effort. But the personalisation element deters me from having one as a main live kit. I do have one for triggering hat's only, but that's another story.

That's a killer set up there and you should use the spare 14" kick as a floor tom, I have seen others do that too. Then make the 12" your second to lowest and the spare 10" as maybe a secondary snare (if you have anyway spare inputs)

Now, if you wanna take it to another level, do the 32g mod, and then get into rendering VSTs (if you use them) sounds to be used on the kit(s) using Lustar's software!!!

Welcome to the family!!!
#672
And yes your alesis pads will work fine with the drumit 5/3
#673
Roland pads are okay. It's the hihat and cymbals which have issue. Yamaha snare/Tom pads will also be trigger-friendly on the drumi3.
Hope this helps

And you have 2 modules too! It's highly recommend to do the 32gig modification and you'll not only have so much more space for samples, songs, loops etc, but it's LOT easier/quicker for sound exchange.

I totally agree they should be selling and customer serving from in house. Dealers are one visioned and only a few that "get it" with 2box will try and sell it. The problem being then of course is having to do it side by side, or not at all, with the giants. Cut out the middle or second and middle men (distribution and retail) and do it from a centre in Sweden. You can increase the profit margin and possibly even offer it to the customer (us) as a slightly reduced price for incentive. I wouldn't be surprised if dedicated users (like myself) would be fully up for promotional workshops, show the man on the street the benefits of the product over the other brands. Show them how you can render a VST with a few clicks and import it onto the module with Lustar's software. Show the 32 gig expansion and even Zurman (excuse the spelling) box to use the VH series hat's. But of course if the Drumit 3 is out by then, the universal trigger option. Any pad, any sound, any questions?
