The 32gig mod is the best thing I have done with this module. No more shifting about space (32 Gig is PLENTY for even a lot massive files) and exchanging no longer I need to dick about with having the module being to hand and connected to the Mac with a USB cable, just take the card. Not only that, transferring is MASSIVELY sped up. I was weary of the boot time being increased but I doesn't seem like it's even a second longer than with the 4gb internal card.

Triggera have a sensor for the rim too, so you'll need stereo (1/4" TRS) cables if you want the rim to tigger too. Many decide to have the Toms as mono triggers and have a Y-splitter cable so you can use the RIM of your Tom inputs on the 2box module as extra toms, percussion, cymbals etc. But remember if you chose to do that, they'll (whatever you connect to the RIM input of Tom channels)  also be single zone triggers.

A stereo cable or as they're often referred to as 1/4" TRS cables are like the snare one you described. Using single tipped cables (like the ones on the toms you said) will not be a problem but it will mean that toms/snare will only give you the head trigger, not the rim. With cymbals, it will prevent you having the choke function. Fine for the kick drum as that's a single zone pad/input anyway. Not sure what it would do on the hihat pad/input but I am pretty darn sure it will not function properly.

Did you get the answers you needed?

I used the Triggera on a Mylar head and it worked a treat. Mesh would probably as good though you may need some foam dampening under the head to achieve most playable dynamics without having to adjust mask time. But I'm guessing that. The trigit external mounted triggers do need some foam dampening. But as I didn't need any of Mylar, you might not need it with a intrig trigger from Triggera.

Gigged with the repaired cymbal pad last night and the 22k resistor made it way more dynamic. No more Bell on the bows. However, only med to hard hit register a bell on the bell. But that's the trade off. I will probably find the sweet spot on the gain between bell on bow and bow on bell setting, if you follow. But for the most part, it was much better.

The difference it mainly the 3 is geared to handle 95% of other brand pads and cymbals. But it has 2 less outputs. Most Roland's and others only ever have 2 outputs so I don't see this as an major loss. I've ever only used 2 on the drumit5. But everyone's requirements differ.

Right to pick up a 2nd drumit5 or wait for the drumit3 before I sell of the TD15 (which. I use just for hats)???

I can confirm the 22k resistor worked a treat and cooled the signal enough now it triggers great and the bell only triggers on the bow if I absolutely LEATHER it. Gonna gig with it tomorrow and report back.
#655
Well, if you can get a drumit5 and the VH11 box thing works, then get the 5! I would for sure.

Muting the head would be best option rather than altering mask time as it might kill your flams and rolls. Cut out some foam (13" for a 14" head for example) and have felt strips across it (each from rim to run across the head) to hold it in place when it's tensioned up. That'll work a treat.

I can imagine this to be the case. But I guess they're gonna concentrate on the drumit3 module for a bit before bringing out a drumit5 plus or something later.
They don't make the best pads (although I certainly like them) and feel the tide going with their market place being fixed into the DIY edrum market.
I do know they're working on a firmware update and going with the drumit3 very soon.
#658
I think they will, but I think they could seriously benefit from being more adept in the marketing dept. Summarising the point raised with the owner of this thread.

I wouldn't say "crush" one is £2200 or so and the drumit3/5is still £700. While one definitely is a more advanced module, the other sits well within the price bracket of the average musician.

Hi all, Lifetime acoustic touring/recording drummer here but relatively new to E drumming, just purchased my first 2Box to go along with my converted kit (silent stroke mesh heads and Triggera intriggs on toms, Onhead and inbox on the snare, real cymbals and hats mic'd up) put this all together for recording purposes only. Just ordered the Jman mod for the module and downloaded Lustars SDSE software, still getting to grips with how this brain works and a little nervous about doing the wrong thing when trying to add/remove kits etc! looking forward to any advice/help i can get while scouring the forums and am sure i'll be asking a few questions soon enough. Anyway, nice to virtually meet you all.
Cheers!

Hi Drumpig,
Welcome to the family. Nice set up you have there. Don't be nervous about doing the wrong thing, anything can be reset if it goes all array. I am interested to know how you get on with the Intrigs. I have a set but don't use them at the moment. Put a post on set-up and tips or general section when you're ready.
