Hey, good to hear great positive response about the DI3. Yeah you're right, they could benefit from some marketing. I am sure a lot of sales are the result of users like us telling folk with older kit where the module is sounding dated but the pads are still holding up that for a mere £700 you can bring a new lease of life to that set up!

I am pretty sure a splitter wouldn't work anyway. The same way that a different trigger cannot trigger the bell on cymbal input B. The 2nd and 3rd zone of the PsY setting is done via a switch and not a piezo.

As for prices, well... It's not worth much, especially as it doesn't look new. Depends on what other bits you want, but splitting it will make it harder to sell the remaining bits if you know what I mean? I'd be willing to sell the whole rack as one price, not sure how much though as I don't know what it was/is worth.

Hi man,
Bass drum pedal works as specified but does show signs of a lot of use. Things like pain on the footboard rubbed away where my shoe was rubbing. The beater has a split in it, but works without issue. Over the last 8 years its been gigged and transported about in a hardware case, so it will show use.
The same goes for everything else, it's been seriously gigged but it all works. One of the pads could do with a new plastic hoop, I have requested this from 2box and they replied that they can supply them, but I haven't heard back and haven't chased it either.

Thanks! A concise but informative article. Hope to see 2box making some new stuff in the future.

I have just bought a 2nd Drumit3 module so no longer have use for the drumit5. It's got some signs of wear over the many tours I have done with it, but all works fine.

£400

Also have a full set of pads and 3 x 14" cymbals. All cymbals are working but have worn edges.
£50 for each cymbal.
£50 2box hihat controller.
£50 for each 10" pad
£60 for 12"
£75 for 14" kick

Also have the rack and all clamps, cymbal arms, snare stand and kick pedal. All working but have  marks after being gigged extensively for almost 8 years.

Can do a deal for all of it.

did you get a drumit 5? I might part with mine if you're still after one.

Keep us posted about the HIHAT... I am interested to see how it fairs!

Just had a quick play about with the TP120SD pad set to PadSSY setting and I have to say, it works a bloody charm!
Anyone that has an old Yamaha DTXtreme II set would be in their element with the Drumit3. Next gig, this is my snare pad. Gonna rip some Superior drummer 3 samples, make some 3 zone Dsdn in the new editor and give it the proper test on the next gig.
As for settings, 0 db gain (with the gain setting on the pad up on full) norm curve, mask off, -40 threshold works really well! It's always a bit different at home than on a gig. Usually I flatten the curve a gig to a POS1 curve, but will see how I feel next time out.

Drumit3/5 don’t detect positional sensing.
TD30 and 50 definitely do.
Ddrum3 and 4 can also, also can detect pressure!
Roland will need certain types of pads for this to work. TD30 will need a pad with a centre piezo. Ddrum 4/3 need a pad that’s similar to their cast precision or precision pads. Which is a piezo on a plate, foam ontop of that and a normal Mylar head.

I still have it, I didn't buy a snare for it. I am currently using a Tama 12" soprano on it with an Aquarian Onhead with RimShot trigger. Works pretty well! Just curious as to making 3zone snare options.

I hope so, if not, hasn't cost me too much as an experiment. But it'll mean I'll have one more than I was hoping for. If it works great, I might actually go for the silicon version (X120SD)

To maintain an authentic look, the TP120SD can be rigged to a 12" 6 hole snare drum. Whether I do that I am unsure yet. I'll see how well it functions.

Oh, well... I guess I am gonna find out. Just won two on ebay (TP120SD) I bid on 2 thinking I'd be outbid on at least one of them...

Bosh!

I won both. Got them really cheap though, £30 each!

Hey,
Has anyone tried the Drumit3 with the XP/TP120SD 3 zone pad? I am thinking to try it out. I would really like to have snare, rimshot and side stick sounds from one pad.
Just wondered what anyone's experience is.

Triggering is a personal thing as we are all different drummers. The trick is to set it up to suit you, there's guidelines to follow but it will require some more in depth understanding how curves/threasholds/mask times work to get it to suit you personally.
Hihats are to the most in depth part to get right, but it can be done. Even the most expensive modules will require a learning curve to get it right for you.
I'd recommend it personally. But checking one out yourself isn't easy, not the kinda thing you can go to a music shop and have it demo'd.
You could take a punt on one, if they have a returns policy, and see if suits. Do you already have the pads and are just looking to update the module?
