You will need to power the Inhead/onhead separately. I have used the onhead with a Drumit5 and it worked great. You have to tweak it differently from a mesh head. I used RUB1 setting and had to set the curve to a NEG setting. But being the nature of FSR treashold and cross talk were not an issue. I honestly don't understand why that tech isn't more widely used.

If the cables are banging together, i.e. only the plastic casing is touching and it's causing it to trigger, sounds like you have the thresholds down way too low and perhaps they're not the best quality cables?

As for the trigit, sounds like the vibration from playing is causing the jack to come loose. Without a close look at it, can't be sure. But you could try maybe taping the jack plug to the casing of the trigit once it's inserted.

Only Roland have positional sensing in the form you're talking about.

Mandala drums also do, but you have to use their rubber octagon pads and software to do it. There's another one too, but cannot think of the name. They're not cheap and also require their special trigger unit and software. Defo more of an EDM/Hybrid drum product though. Damn, wish I could remember what that one is called.

There are somethings to consider when using mask to eliminate double trigger hits. If you're using a single pedal, mask will serve you well. Are you gonna use a 20+ inch kick drum with a mesh head? If so, yeah Mask will help you get a clean trigger set up. But if you're gonna use a double pedal and will be doing a lot of quick drags, ruffs and flams etc... You will be better off leaving mask low (or off) on a AC1 setting and muffling the inside of the kick with a pillow or some form of heavy foam.

It won't have positional sensing, not 100% sure but I believe Roland have some patent on that (even though Ddrum did it back in 1993!)

In unit, you need to have save enabled and save any changes, are you doing that?

I am not so sure they're gonna wanna try and compete at that end of the market i.e. Mimic, Gewa G9 (if they ever figure that thing out) but if there's another module in the works, I'd imagine it would sit about the 5mk 2 and Strike Pro module. So in essence, the core structure of the 2box platform but with more inputs/outs, larger screen, physical faders, larger storage. Something like that?

I had this on my drumit5 too. Mine was more of two kits forward, one kit back. 1 kit forward, two kits back. Sorta thing. I never tried cleaning it, wouldn't risk doing some damage. A minor inconvenience at best. A mate's drumit5 didn't do it at all.

You would definitely need an AC/AC adaptor, not the usual AC/DC adaptors like almost all electronic devices use (inc the new Drumit3) So I would go to an electrical store and ask if they have one that will supply 18V AC. I am not sure of how many amps the drumit5 requires, so check that first.

The USB on the drumit5 and 5 doesn't transmit midi. To interact with a VST in any DAW you will have to use the Midi out into an interface (with some learning and mapping of notes too)

You can get just a Midi to USB interface, they're a lot cheaper than audio interface.

No you won't be able to use USB, in fact, it's strongly recommended you don't even try. But the beauty with the SD card mod is that you don't need the module you do any edits and file transfers. Just the SD card. So if your computer doesn't have an SD card reader, you'll need one. But they're cheap anyway. The other bonus is that data transfer speeds are way faster than USB.

I have (almost) all of the older 2box drumit5 sounds, which aren't on the website anymore. But I think in time they'll reupload them on to the newer site. There's a lot of them too! They were/are on a German website but for the life of me cannot remember the address.

Hmmmm, this is a tough one. Could be a few factors but being that you have swapped cables. I'd make sure the hihat is in the correct input (a no brainer) and the trigger type is set to HHAT. Ask the previous owner if this was an issue with him/her. If it was and they didn't disclose, well I suppose not much you can do about it if it's sold as seen. But if you bought it off eBay, you have cause to take a case up if he doesn't compensate you.

Try my first few suggestions first. They are probably obvious ones but you'd not be the first person to have a wrong trigger type assigned.
