Ciao!

Steve

Hello!

The pads of the original MK1 and Mk2 were the same. If they are the orange/black ones.

They will mount on Tama Style L-Rod stand. They fit on tightly, but it can be done.

Anything larger, like DW style L-Rod, definitely not.

Anything slighlty thinner, like the kind that cowbells mount on, that will work too.

I hope google translates my reply into Italian well enough for you to understand.

Greetings from Wales.

Steve

I google translated the post:

Hi everyone! I have a doubt and I hope someone here can help me.
I have the 2Box MK1 (first model) but without hardware. Now I would like to purchase only the MK2 hardware that I found online from a private individual.
I was about to make the payment but I had the terrible doubt that the MK2 pads are not compatible with the MK1 that I own.
Can anyone give me some information on this?
I read from a previous post that many of the pads of other brands do not work well on 2box but I don't know how the compatibility is between the various models of the DrumIt5
P.S. I hope this topic hasn't already been discussed but I don't think I've found anything about it in the forum
Thanks in any case for your attention :-)

Amazing work. I just yesterday was chatting to a guy on a Facebook group (possibly 65drums page) and he'd just come into possession of a Ddrum4 and was asking about cymbal sounds. It appears they were wiped from the module from previous owner. Anyway, I directed him here. It great to see there's life in that old dog yet, I had one for many years and it served me very well. It even appeared on a couple of international albums which I sessioned on in the 2000's, though wasn't given credit.

There's a setting in hihat, god I wish I could remember what it's called, but if you adjust that while playing it will bring the closed foot position up, and you'll get it right.

I'll have a look at the manual now to see if I can see it and jog my memory of what setting it is.

As for the other playing issues. I know you can get it playing great. It should be pretty close out of the box but then, I would need to be sat infant of it to get to the bottom, I just know very well what the module is capable of.

Hold that thought. (unless someone else can chime in with the answer before I do some reading up)

Something is way off there you can definitely do rolls, fast ones, buzz rolls etc on a 2 box kit. I had one for many many years. I have played the speedlight kit at a shop and I really liked it.

Was it a demo kit, like a floor model or something? If so I'd wager it's been messed with by people in the store and it's how it is.

I can't say how, but I'd factory reset it. It can be done I just can't remember how to do it.

Ah, I am sorry. Yamaha trigger type wasn't the answer. Like I say it was a long time ago so I probably remembered it wrong.

I would send 2box an email, maybe they'll have some ideas.

He means that another year of no new modules, products or significant updates.
#23
I only sat behind a speedlight kit once a few years ago. I recall the ride being on the Yamaha trigger type. Give it try, it can't harm it.

There's one of the trigger setting types which switch to the bell after a certain (quite high) velocity. It sounds like its on that setting.

I am not sure if that's the right trigger type for that cymbal or not. But check the trigger types page and see which one is best suited for you.

I would also send an email to Thomann for their advice.

If you do go up to a MKII module or a drumit 3, then pretty much any crash/ride pad (except Roland digital ones) will work well.

Yamaha still get the nod for me as they're on one cable.

But, there's an issue that you can trigger crash by hitting the area between the bell and the bow, most notably with the shoulder of the stick.

For reference, this does also happen with the edrumin trigger interfaces. But I have never had it with a Mimic Pro module, and I have seen it doesn't happen with Yamaha modules either, no surprise there I guess. So I don't know what that is and whether there'll be any fix to it.

Gewa cymbals also work on a 3 zone-1 cable method, maybe some other brands too like Unlock Jaws cymbals (which I think are a really good addition to the budget cymbal market) I am surprised it's not more widely used myself, but there you go.

Sounds to me like the classic SD card issue.

There's a certain type of cards that have been shown to work really well, and a list of other that do not. I don't have the list to hand. But I recommend contacting Anders at Zurmann drums. He's on this site and it very knowledgeable about these things.

Good luck.

PS I would not recommend accessing the internal card if it's larger than 4gb but the USB slot. There's a risk of some major issues (some physical) that could occur if you do.

You should be fine with Roland or Yamaha crashes just that they'll only be 2zone, In Yamaha's case you'll have the edge triggered from the Bell too. You'll not be able to use the bell as a bell sound on stock crashes. But you could construct one in the editor to have bell on the bell, such as a ride. But the edge will be a bell too. If you get me?

Zurnman may have a box for that though, I am not sure.
#28
Yeah it's a shame isn't it? I am sure they could really push the envelope if given then right circumstances. Which basically means money.

I find switching kits quick, so during songs very quick indeed. As quick as Roland Modules more or less.

You would need to install a hihat trigger system, like GoEdrum trigger system. Reasonably priced and seemingly an easy instal. Plus a controller if it doesn't come with one (I am not sure) btw, it would need to be a Drumit3 or 5Mk11 module.

If it's the original one, you'd need a Zurmann 2box hihat box too. But the short answer it yes, it can ne done.
