Hi,
I have tried desperately to get the Mutt Lang/Def Leppard/Bryan Adams Snare (well, and kick but I never got that far) And had a crack at making my own using logic snares which only seem to be available if you try (try being the most appropriate term) to replace a recorded drum sound from an audio track.
Anyway, I layered, compressed, gated, eq's until the cows came home (and I don't own any!... but they bloody turned up regardless)
From there, I programmed about 15 hits (I know I should have done a lot more, but the sound hardly changed form hard to soft anyway) and used wiredtap studio to record the sounds, split on silence and from there, I loaded all the WAVs into Drumit 5 application to pad centre (didn't do a rim) and saved as a dsnd file
and this is the result.

However, if you notice, when the sound on the module is set on "VAR" on low hits, you hear silence on small hits?! WHY!? If you set it to FIX or TOP... no problem but the sound is WAY less natural, if that's the word as the sound by it's nature is anything BUT natural of a snare drum.
Anyway, if you're after a big 80's, you might like this. I haven't tried doing toms or kick, the silence thing kinda told me that I was missing something so before I try and make anymore, I'll figure out what that is. I have email 2box with the sound, who very graciously said they'd looking into it but have't come back to me as yet.
I got some Superior snares and Kicks, but I am not sure sharing them would infringe copywrite or something.

I have been away a few weeks and have come back to find that for some unknown reason, I cannot save changes to kits anymore. The button works for other things (like layer change, sound preview etc) so I know it's not a mechanical issue. Anyone experienced this? And if so, what do I do to change it?

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Double triggering on ride
December 17, 2012, 07:05:08 PM
Anyone had a double trigger problem on a ride cymbal. The theashold is set -27 and the gain is at 0M... and when I played I can hear the occasional "flam" on ride notes. I swapped the pad and it doesn't do it on the other one so it's a pad issue, I have hardly used the kit since I have been on a ship for 6 months so it's almost new. Though I didn't buy it from new so can't take it back to the shop under warrantee. Any ideas of what to look for?

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Snare latency
May 11, 2012, 03:19:43 PM
Hi!
Has anyone noticed an annoying latency issue with the snare. It only seems to happen when your playing 8th notes on pedal hat while riffing around on ride, toms, kicks and snare. As soon as the pedal hi hats are triggered at 8th notes I've been noticing a latency in snare hits.
If this is across the board, poor show 2box! Well disappointed and thus will be selling the whole kit as a result which would be a shame because I does sound great. Much like Ddrum before it, they focused on how real it sounded above the gimmicks.

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / New user!

Dear 2Box Drumit Five users!
I have just bought one S/H for an extremely good price and have just set it up and and a brief bash at it and am pleased with what I found so far. I have no updates the OS nor have I loaded any new sounds for it, but have downloaded them from the 2box site. I haven't calibrated the hi hat yet nor have I properly set up trigger gains, thresholds, curves for all drums.
I was for may years a Ddrum 4/3 user and am hoping this kit is going to be the thing that relights my love for edrums, not that it died, I just haven't owned an ekit for 5 years, though I have played on some version of V-drums on the ship I work on with very little love for it.
So this is just an "hello" "bear with me, it's been a while" and "any tips or pit falls I should know about?" before I get up tomorrow and start messing with it properly.
