Years ago I swapped to Zildjian Gen16 hats with the Gen16 module. I'm very disappointed in how Zildjian treats their customers but it works and real hats so very comfy.

That is a nasty hack, took some time to get rid of the stuff that hijacked my Safari browser. all is well now. Stay away from the 2Box website !! >:(

Heya, long time no post. Still going strong, not much time to play, maybe 30 minutes per week. This happens in covid time with no band (or band-aspirations), 60 years old with a large programma to manage. I don't even take time to rerun Lustar's software to get smaller BFD3 files and I know I need to make a new SD-card, the current one is now 9 years in service. :)

I also consider to do a A2E conversion when my MkII hardware is done. Perhaps a new Drumit5 module with a converted Pearl MHX (12-14-16-24) in silver sparkle. It is in storage since 2014 and I have all the hardware to put it up.

I keep my 3 2Box cymbals and as long as the Gen16 keeps running I stick to it. I'm very displeased with Zildjian regarding the way they treat Gen16 customers. Unresponsive, incompatible software since MacOS is full 64-bits. I wired both hats and that is the best sounding part, ride and 2 crashes are not as good as you would like to but perhaps triggers and a second module to keep using those.

Anyway, I'm fine, it is just a time squeeze.

Murgen, I remember that well when you came up with that rack mod
I never owned the whole 2 Box kit. Jman took me down the a to e conversion routebut I know a lot of members used your mod to brace up their kicks. I also remember when you built your drumshed and when you had your heart problems. Glad everything turned out ok for your healtheisr. Thanks for all your posts thru the years. They have been helpful to me!

Thank you very much, warm words :) How do you keep up ?

Aha, nice! But you did the mod on a mk1 rack, aka, the one with thinner legs?
There was also the mk2 rack, so in hindsight confusing with the later mk2 module...

Anyway, yes, plans still coming together :-)

Mk2 rack ... I bought a Mk2 back in 2012. Now slowly the little plastic hooks start to break and the bottom of the module got sticky but it still delivers. :)

Curious about your plans :)

Hi Murgen.
"2Box Drumit 5 Mk2 since 2012"
That's for sure back to the future after the past became the prequel to nowadays! :-)

1.2 Jigawatt @Deve Loper, it was a joke, I added an extra bar to the rack to fixate the bass-pad and named it the MkII :)

How are your plans coming together?

Edcito , you and Anders and one of two others including me are the only ones posting now. But some have moved on to Mimic,  Roland and Strike and others are probably set up with their 2 Box kits or modules and happy just playing I guess, lol!

I'm still here but very busy with work, play my 2box on a regular basis. Will post an update soon.

Rubber coating has that habit when it ages.

While it looks the same as a Di3, there are some differences.

I spotted tom inputs are condensed to single jacks now. So that would assume toms 1-4 are mono and no rim trigger. The di3 has 4 stereo (head and rim) inputs.

Cymbals only have 1 roland ride (2 input) connections too, with the other two crashes being single jacks. Okay if you're using Yamaha cymbals if you want the bell too. So yeah, I think the Di3 is still a better module, just.

Good to know, my MkI is from early 2012, you never know how long it will last. Thank you.

Check this out. It is a drumit 3 in disguise. And cheaper so ... quite a bargain.

DrumIt 5 Hardware / Drumit 5 module Mk I is sticky
February 04, 2021, 05:15:31 PM
Cleaned up my drumcabin, rearranged the setup. Cleaned the modules with a wet cloth, the bottom and back of the Drumit5 module is sticky ... rubber finish I guess and rubber has the habit to deteriorate. Anyone else with the same issue and any ideas to remove the sticky surface?

I run it on a macbook, prolly more secure then windows. On drum-forum.nl Animal might be able to help you.

A friend of mine (dutch 2box drummers know him by the handle Animal) finally pursued me to install Jamulus.Tomorrow I run my first real test and a friend of mine playing guitar promised to hook up during the Christmas Holidays.

My 2Box5 MkI and Gen16 module are connected to a A&H ZED10FX and the USB perfectly works on my MacBook. Time to drum online :)

Anyone else interested? I can help you.
