I see it more along the lines of nature's warning signals: beware - killer drums ;)
Still, a ninja 2box kit would be pretty damn cool.

Hi Lumakeo, welcome on board.

The DrumIt's kick is certainly much quieter than my DD4's setup (real head, aluminium cast shell, pedal from my old Pearl Export), and those TD 3 kicks have quite a solid "thwack" to them too.

I'm guessing your problem is the mechanical vibration going through the floor though, and you'll probably get that at some level from anything you bang repeatedly :D

There's some good suggestions over here:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-44573_32_0.html
...none of the answers are 'quick and easy' but you might get some good ideas.

My advice is go and spend some time trying the DrumIt out in a drum shop, preferably with a friend, so you can take it in turns playing & listening to how much noise it's likely to transmit in your apartment, compared to your TD3.

If that fails, give us your neighbour's address and we'll teach him some tolerance of percussion :D

Looks like gmail doesn't like the server IP address either - hang in there people, we'll get this fixed!

In the meantime, I'm happy to set up registrations for you at the email address above.

Thanks, and apologies for any inconvenience

Hi all

We're aware people aren't getting the activation emails - sorry about that - we're working on it!

Quick Update...turns out it's because the forum's on a shared server and some muppet had some dodgy scripts running on a website hosted at the same IP address. Gah! The web host is on the case with Hotmail and hope to get it fixed in the next few days.

In the meantime, please go ahead and register, and send me an email with your username and registered email address to:

stickman  {{at}} universalconstructors   {{dot}}  {{com}}

(I'll let you guess the correct format :))

I'll activate your accounts manually.

Thanks
Tom

Puttenvr, hope you don't mind, I changed your links to [img height=400]

Might be worth resizing the originals to save everyone's bandwidth though :)

And congratulations on your new baby

edit: are those the rubber heads you've got on there? or a trick of the light?

In that case I'd really recommend getting a small mixer  - a second-hand one shouldn't cost too much - maybe £30 - £40 gbp. The DrumIt actually has 6 line-outs (3 stereo pairs) so if you can afford a mixer with 3 stereo-ins plus a phono line-in you'll be laughing.

A mini mixer will give you massive control over your drum levels and EQ, let you mix in your iPod, and output the whole lot to headphones and/or main outs (eg to your amp or computer's line-in). I've got a small Behringer UB802 which is well-built and has pretty nice 3-band EQ.

You can split out the drum groups from your Brain so you can seperately EQ the cymbals, toms, kick and snare - if you've not done it before it sounds a bit daunting, but it's not too bad once you've got your head round it.

Brilliant on stage if you need to add in a click or whatever to your headphones, without giving the sound engineer a monitoring headache - unless you start cranking up your levels after he's done his checks :-)

My guess is you'll need to hang on for the forthcoming software update (DrumIt OS and/or PC/Mac application) for proper transfer capability, which is a bit of a bugger, but you've got some seriously decent kits available to you in the meantime. Scott from Hand in Hand will be on here like a flash when the update's ready - if you click 'notify' on the first post in this thread, as soon as it's ready and available I'll get word out.

Hey man, thanks - it was a real hardship playing on it for an hour...I only got to Kit 33 by the time they were turning off the lights in the shop :)

The more I play the 2box the more I can't wait to get mine home - it's got this weird habit of being simultaeously amazing to play, but at the same time showing up he lazy/ bad technique that my DDrum 4 let me get away with for too long :)

I've honestly got no doubt I'm going to become a better drummer once I've put in some proper hours with it, and spent time setting it up for my weirdly deformed shape :D

We're not jealous of your vorsprung durchfall Teknik super-schnell Autobahn Theo...

Much.

Nice! THe Zkrat remix is bangin'. Good music for driving fast to (but within your regional speed limit of course :))

I'll drop you a PM about the remix

Cheers

Evening all
Went back down to Wembley Drum Centre and the good folks let me have another session, this time with a little netbook and tascam outboard soundcard with me.

Had a freaking great time :D

Here's some clips - except for a few fade-outs here and there and some cack-handed attempts at removing some nasty clicks that were caused by a slow hard drive or something, there's no EQ, reverb, compression, nuttin' altering the sound coming out of the brain except for maybe the 'mp3 effect'...

I didn't really have time to do too much adjusting of the kit, so you'll probably notice some (mostly unintentional!) flamming of the kick - shoulda loosened that puppy up, as I play mine flabby :)

Oh and I lost the pieceof paper with the kit names on relating to the clips, so I had to make up the names...Will try to put names to clips at some point.

I've installed a youtube plugin so to celebrate, here's my favourite clips...post up yours!

Couldn't start anywhere except for Bengt himself introducing the kit :)

Tony Liotta showing off the response and dynamic range...

Shame about the background noise, but some nice snare work and check out those toms...

Our own Simpan's first stroll through the 2box park...

...To post, paste the regular youtube URL between the square bracketed youtube BB code thing,  and give it some of that.
