Hello,

you can download the whole content of the module as a zip file here:

She stated they were aware of Manfred's set-up and they wanted to buy it from him to save them on R&D but nothing ever happened. I reckon Manfred didn't want to sell his design to them.

Well, there were some emails between Pintech and me. But there is nothing that needs to be discussed in a public forum.

Hi,

maybe we just have to wait. In the last years we got some "christmas gifts" from 2Box. New sounds, new OS, new editor and so on.

Lets see what happens this year  :D

Hi,

yes, there are 2 ways of using more than 100 kits:

1. Additional single kit files which occur above the 100 sets

2. Use multiple *.dkit files. Then you choose which one to use during start-up.

Hi,

regarding the PCB please have a look here:

I'm thinking of a second batch so if you are interested please send me a PM.

Hi,

obviously it complains about your audio settings. Go to "Setup" --> "Audio Settings" and check it. Can you hear a sound by clicking on a drum?

For the module itself you don't need a driver.

Hello,

i still get requests from time to time about the board. The problem i have with another batch is that i had to advance a lot of money and i'm not sure how much users are really interested. I wouldn't mind to spend some time for a second batch but i definitely would mind if i couldn't cover the expenses.

Based on the numbers for the first batch the price for the board would be around 30,- Euro plus (worldwide) shipping which is another 8 Euro.

So assuming there will be another batch of a slightly modified but very similar board who would be interested? Could those who are sure that they would want a board please drop me a PM?

There is no order for boards or components placed up to now but i would like to have an estimation about the risk for the advance money.

Hi Dylan,

thanks for joining the forum! I think the best way for the 2Box community and also for your business would be to offer sound files which are ready for use in the 2Box module.

I already have your snarecity sample pack but it takes some effort to create the sounds which some users might not want to take. So if you could offer them "ready to use" would be really great.

The DSND-format that 2Box is using is a kind of WAV-format. The sound editor to create these sounds is available free of charge at the 2Box homepage including some manuals:

http://www.2box.se/pages/editor/

There is also an editor available developed by Louis, a member of this forum. Its not free of charge but you can test it 30 days and decide if you like it or not:

http://www.shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/

I hope offering DSND-files is an option for you. If there is help required i think there are a few people here in the forum who gained some experience in creating and editing sounds. Contacting 2Box directly might also be an option. Maybe they are interested in a cooperation.

Hi,

footsplash is always detected when there is a fast down-movement of the hihat. So take a look at your hihat while you are playing. I guess it is moving down with every stroke. Maybe you can change the tension of the spring at your hihat to avoid footsplashes.

Setup guides and tips / Re: hihat settings

Hi,

doesn't sound like a problem to me. You should set the gain in a way that your strongest hits trigger the maximum level. Gain and Thresh-Settings are there that you are able to adapt brain to the pad and to your playing style.

Its not a fault if it doesn't work perfect with all possible combinations of settings. You have to find the right settings for your kit and your playing style. Thats all.

Regards, Manfred

PS.  I use Gain 4 and Thresh -36 for the hihat.

I wonder why they dropped the idea ...

Well this question seems quite easy to answer. Just look around in this and other threads in the forum. Most SD-Cards on the market don't offer enough performance to work in the 2Box brain without adding too much latency.

Just imagine the discussions and complaints about latency if the card would be accessible. I guess thats the reason why 2Box decided to keep it as it is.

Hi,

the plastic box is really easy to brake with the drill. I did that too with my first box. I bought them from Conrad by the way:

http://www.conrad.de/ce/de/product/522376/M-GEHAEUSE-55-X-28-X-51

english version:

http://www.conrad.com/M-enclosure-55-x-28-x-51.htm?websale7=conrad-int&pi=522376&cc=y

At the online shop they are even a bit cheaper compared to the real store. But shipping cost is pretty high. However, maybe you can find a similar box in a local store.

A plastic box shouldn't have too much influence on the magnet. But metal boxes would have a big influence depending on what kind of metal it is.

Hi,

thanks for the feedback, nice to hear that it works good with your VH12! Yes, its still some DIY to find the right distance between magnet and sensor. And also to fix the board and sensor properly.

Regards, Manfred

PS. The number of "half-open" levels depends on the sound you are using. I think most of the stock sounds have 3-5 levels in total from closed to open. But in theory you can also create sounds with up to 7 levels (bow and edge) plus foot splash. The "only" problem is to find samples. I think even Superior Drummer and BFD don't have that much levels.

Hi,

thats not really weird. The original samples can be tuned higher or lower in the module. With sounds created by DSoundtool you will notice that they can only by tuned lower. So the definition what is "normal" (Tune = 0) is just different.

With Dsoundtool "Tune = 0" means that the maximum play-back rate is used. I think its 44.1kHz. Thats also the reason why these sound can't be tuned higher in the module. With the original sounds "Tune = 0" means that a lower playback rate is used. The maximum rate of 44.1kHz is used when it is set to the maximum tune value.

If this is crucial you can also create the sounds with the 2Box editor. There you can set the "max tune" value of the sounds.
