Hi.
You say the distortion is there even if the volume is down all the way?
So actually it's more like a hum / noise being there even if you don't play any sounds?
Seems like bad power because of too low AC input voltage or components gone bad.
Never encountered this before. I guess you should send your unit in for service.

Is your power adapter getting very hot?
Maybe after a while when it gets too warm, the secondary ac voltage drops and the internal power circuits can't deliver a clean voltage anymore.
Otherwise is the main ac voltage too low? It should be 230 V +-5 %.

In OS 1.10 you can't disable choke. I didn't consider it necessary to be able to do so.
I don't think software should fix bad hardware...
The manual page earlier in this thread is from OS 0.36, that one is not up to date.
Please get the latest manual from our web site.

Hello.
Is this always on the same sounds?
If it is, is it there directly after power on or does it come later?
Is it on all outputs?

What I'm trying to find out is where in the signal chain it appears.
We have problems with certain SD cards, in that case the distortion will remain once it appears. If it comes and goes it might be a bad electrical component. If it's always on a certain output (but not others) it might be a bad output amp (to be honest, we never seen that problem).

Of course we'll try to help you out.

Hi.
If you use the rim sound which comes with the snare sound, both the head and the rim are controlled by the snare channal volume (similar for toms). Only if you select a separate sound on the rim channel, then you can adjust its volume separately.
The idea being that a snare or tom is one instrument. If the trigger sensitivities (which is separate for the rim) are correct, the sound while playing head and rim should be as a real drum.
Also, the cymbals use the tip signal for trigger signal and the ring signal for the edge switch. The idea was to distinguish the cup and bow by signal analysis, but the (production) cymbal plates did not produce a consistent signal difference. So now it's done based on signal strength. If you connect other brand cymbals this might give the wrong effect.

Hi.
The guide is coming on our web site soon.
Please contact your distributor first, on how to obtain a replacement SD card.

Hi.
Don't know where the click comes from, but...
If the decay is on 10 s AND the attack and hold are still on 0 s, the decay starts directly after sample start. The decay time is defined as the time when the envelope reaches -40 dB. So even after 2.5 sec it will have reached -10 dB, so the click will be less audible.

Also, the click issue by rudiman.
Which sound are you playing? Maybe it's (unfortunately) a Flash card issue.
Do you have a unit with serial number > 1050?

Dear DrumIt customer.

If you have trouble with the unit freezing or sound files getting corrupted, it is most likely due to a Flash card failure. The DrumIt units affected are from serial number 1050. We will arrange a replacement Flash card under warranty. Please contact your distributor and report your problem. If you are ok with opening the unit yourself and replacing the Flash card (only some basic tools needed, no soldering), the distributor will send you a replacement Flash card with all files on it. Otherwise you have to send the unit back to the distributor or, in case the distributor agrees, to the shop where you bought your DrumIt. A special guide for opening up the unit is available here. Please backup your DrumIt.dkit file first, you can copy it back on the new Flash card. No software changes are needed.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience,

the 2box team.

Hi.
The software for making the ddrum4 sounds was running on a 68k Mac from way back. The compression algorithm is nasty. So sorry, no software to make ddrum4 sounds today. The ddrum4wav program I carved out of the ddrum4tool program, so just decoding.
The MIDI sample dump stuff is single layer only with 9 different preset variations to add some velocity and filter action.

Hi.

Try this (PC only).
http://www.2box.se/Downloads/ddrum4wav.zip
Drop any ddrum4 mid file on it, and you get a bunch of wav files (mono 16 bit 44.1 kHz) in the same folder as the mid file. All wav files extracted take more space than the original mid file since the ddrum4 format is compressed.
This is just a hack, so no guarantees.
(You can use these files directly in the DrumIt Editor.)

I'am looking into the hihat MIDI behaviour.
Plus some other wishes.

There will be an SD card exchange policy published soon.
Both here and on the web.

Hi.
Will be fixed in next OS update.

Hi.
No question mark means no changes means nothing to save.
If SAVE on the PREF page is Off you can't save so the question mark remains.

2 exceptions, hihat calibration and the save function itself are always saved so no question mark appears and you don't have to press SAVE on the MIX page.

The SAVE On/Off function should not lock out itself.

The hihat calibration is a necessary setup step (as well in a shop for demo) and it would be bothersome to have to enable SAVE, calibrate and then dsiable SAVE again. (Especially when forgetting the last step in shop demo.)
