Setup guides and tips / Re: MIDI in and 2box
November 13, 2011, 08:01:25 PM
Hi.
There are no MIDI notes available except those which "match" a specific zone on a specific channel.
So one can not play additional sounds beyond the ones on the 15 drum channels.
There is currently no MIDI over USB.

Hi.
So you can play MP3s in your car now, congrats :-)
The web site is out of my control, sorry.
The voice count metr is a good idea, I'll keep it in mind.

Deve.

Hi.
Just a little notice that a new OS version is on the way with increased phones level.
I'll check the wishlist and see what else I can throw in.
Regards,
Deve.
ps. This month, really.

Hi. Sorry I didn't catch your question earlier. But as a sequencer should act as a kind of delay (playing back whats been recorded earlier), try the drumit in local off mode and connect midi in directly to midi out. If that works, it's up to your interface / sequencer to catch that data stream.

Hi. Why not use your original drumit.dkit file? Then all your kits are complete but you have the new possibilities of OS1.20. The new drumit.dkit file uses newly released  sounds to show what is happening on that front.

Yep. 100 kits in the kit bank plus 999 single kits.
Use the empty.dkit to create your own.

Hi.
Because the sounds are not IN the kits. The kits just contain references to them.

Just updating the OS does not change your kits. If you also replaced your DrumIt.dkit file, then some kits might contain references to sounds which you don't have. If you check the KIT-DRUM page for ech channel you'll see which ones. Or put the unit in USB mode and start the PC / Mac Editor and select the drumit.dkit file on the unit itself then you see quickly which drum files are missing.

Aha. From the Editor point of view, all drum files must be in the same or lower folder as the drumit.dkit file itself. This is of course always like that on the DrumIt unit.
The next editor rev (should be on the web soon) can import export single kit files.

Hi. Are you sure? The bank file drumit.dkit must be in the root but single kits can be anywhere. And there are no abs paths. There is a restriction on how many files / folders there can be.
See http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,1001.msg9712.html#msg9712
If the limits are exceeded some drum files might not be found.
I'll increase the limits for the next release.

Kijk eens aan. Prima de luxe om eens alle 15 kanalen te benutten.

Hi. Must be something weird with your wav files you dropped. Depending on the loudest layer abs level, all layers get amplified so the loudest layer is normalized. So orig -5 -9 -13 will become 0 -4 -8.
Test with the birch sounds on our web.
Before dropping files you need not normalize any of them.

Hi.
Does it happen directly after power on, without any buttons being pushed?
What was your previous OS?
Did it ever happened before?

Deve.

Did you try the DrumIt Five Editor?
It swallows all sample rates, 8, 16 or 24 bits, mono or stereo.
Just (so far) only single zone.

The main figure you need to be concerned about is the sequential read and write speeds, as this is what the card will mostly be doing, rather than random reads and writes.

Oops, wrong conclusion.
Nothing wrong about being engaged but don't  make assumptions about how things work under the hood. There's more going on than you might think...
