I have all kits from Steven Slate Drums 5 in my 2box Drumit 3 module.
I think these are the best sounding samples at this time.
loving those samples. Now my Drumit 3 sounds as good as the Pearl Mimic module.

you have any examples? a video or a recording maybe?

Setup guides and tips / Re: 2Box MIDI Presets for Superior Drummer 3

Regarding the Drumit 5 HiHat CC it is set to CC01 (modulation wheel) by default, and SD3 reacts to CC04. However, the Drumit 5 preset in SD3 e-drum setting remaps the incoming CC01 to CC04 by default, so it is not necessary to change the Drumit 5 CC-setting if that preset is used (as is, or as template for modifications).

I think it's better to change it to cc4, I just try the default cc1 with Addictive drums 2 and I get no splash out of the hihat, changed it to cc4 and splash was triggered immediately...

If you live in Europe you can contact 2box directly and they will send you one directly or tell you where to get it, it’s only a piece of rubber and thomann and co. Can source them on request

Have the old MK-2 unit. Worthwhile to upgrade? All comments welcomed.
It depends on many factors:
Which pads are you using?
how many outputs do you need?
did you mod your module?

if you're using the 2box pads then there is no need to upgrade
if you need 6 or 8 direct outputs you don't need to upgrade
if you moded your module there is no need to upgrade
do you play the internal sounds or import samples from SD3 and the like?

do you use the headphones out or use a mixer? There is the issue with the drumit 5 headphones out "coloring" the sound, which resulted in kits from VST´s sounding different, usually pretty bad, than when played directly on the computer, I was the first to point that with the drumit 3 they fixed this and now the phones out sounds much better and almost identical to the kits on the computer. I would assume the next drum it 5 will have the same phones out as the 3 so that could be a reason to upgrade.

The rest is the same as the drum it 3, support for pads and cymbals from other manufacturers, same software but no slow usb 1 port...

It works like any other plugin out there, pretty good, it's fully supported now by SDSE

Sharing drum sounds - wav / aiff / rex / Re: New sounds from 2box

As mentioned before, not all sounds are new but are the sounds found in the 2box drum it 5 and 3, if you need those just download the card content for both and merge them, however I found these are indeed "new" or added since September 2018, when there were 92 sounds not found in the modules yet, you can download them here:!Apbbfhss1Va_gc5cV1NFNEegkZHLIA?e=4xm3JJ

Yeah, it's not a bad thing, in fact 2box never mention the word "new" in the announcement:
"Great news for the weekend!
We have expanded the sounds section on our homepage.
More than 350 2Box Sounds are now available for download including pre listen function.
There will be many more categories within the next weeks…

It was then a problem of interpretation and a misunderstanding :-)
and yeah, the EU 14 SCF Crash you mentioned is "new" since it's not in the drumit 5 or 3, but not in the sense of time since it's from april 2011...

Setup guides and tips / Record Audio and video with your iphone or ipad
« on: August 12, 2019, 09:40:19 AM »
You want to do some covers for youtube but your audio is out of sync and aligning it with a software is tedious and expensive? well, if you have an iphone or ipad you can record quickly directly audio and video in the youtube app using the following stuff:

1- USB Audio interface compatible with ipad (and iphone): I use the roland Rubix22, it's around 60 bucks used or 100 new. There is also the Steinberg UR22 MK2 for roughly the same price. There are cheaper ones but the 2 above have MIDI IN/OUT Ports, which is useful if you want to record MIDI as well. Also note these have only 2 Inputs, so you only be able to record your 2box and whatever you have plugged in your aux in, for instance your phone or mp3 player if you record with an ipad. If you want to record your voice as well then you'll need an interface with 4 inputs and a microphone.

2. Apple Camera Kit USB kit, this goes between your ipad/phone and the audio interface

3. 5V Power adapter with mini usb cable for the audio interface, since the ipad/iphone wont provide enough power to the Audio interface, I use the same iphone charger with a mini usb cable and it works perfectly.

With this you'll be able to record audio and video with decent quality, the downside is that the youtube app won't allow you to add anything like text or other things, you will only be able to trim the video and that's it. However If you want to edit the video afterwards to add text or explanations you can use the built in app "clips" and export the video to imovie and edit it there.

So that's it, record quickly and decently without a computer.

Setup guides and tips / Cheapest way to record your 2box

So you want to record your 2box but you're broke and can't afford an RME Babyface audio interface? Don't worry, you can get this cable for 15 bucks and plug the right and left to your 1-2 outs and the usb to your computer, install free asio drivers and the free software audacity, hit record and there you go, you'd found the cheapest way to record your playing without spending more than you have already (providing you have a computer already)

Hi i made some pics but before i saw this post, maybe it might help.

How  can i add pics here?

You can't, you need to add them to flickr or something and paste the link here

The midi  used by the 2box is weird and to this day I haven't got a clear answer from them as to why is it like that, but I use the SD3 2box mapping that even has two, one for the drumit 5 and one for the drumit 3 and it works perfectly, but there is one detail almost no one knows regarding the hihat part of it: make sure the PED setting in the Unit-MIDI page is set to CC4▼!, which sends data continuously and works better for the SD3 hihat.
By default is set to something else, I can't remember, but just set it to the above value and you'll be fine.
