Thanks all! Good to at least (hopefully) rule out file/folder structure as a cause. Maybe I'll try a reformat or even a new card....

I was getting this weird issue with crackling/'glitch' sounds on some of my samples. I thought maybe my SD card was failing (it's a SanDisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 with the ribbon cable extender) but somebody else recommended I try moving my .DSND kit files to the root of the SD card.

After some testing this has seemed to improve some of the glitching issues, BUT the big downside is that now there's a 5-10 second delay when changing between kits where I don't get any sound. This obviously makes it a lot harder to preview/audition different kits to find what I need, so I'm hoping there might be some 'best practise' I can follow in order to achieve the best of both worlds: instantaneous kit changes but also no 'glitch' sounds when playing lots of samples....?

Is there a known method for arranging SD card files/folders for best use with 2Box DrumIt?

NOTE: This is now sold.

2Box DrumIt Five Mk 1 module, mint condition, light studio use only. Asking for $500 plus shipping.

Bought a bundle that included a second module so didn't need this one.

I also have a couple of 2Box trigger pads ($75 each) and the 2Box hi-hat ($100) so let me know if you're interested in a bundle deal.

Comes with

  • Module
  • Power Supply
  • Mounting bracket
  • 50GB of samples on USB from software instruments such as Addictive Drums and Superior Drummer.

Sorry to revive a super old post but - I've found a few of my clamps have stripped their bolts, tho I'm not sure if it's the bolts or the kind of 'wing nut' on the other end... Did you have any experience with stripping and if so do you think it's the bolt or the 2Box wingnut that should be replaced?

I finally bought a 2Box kit after owning the DrumIt Five for about 10 years. I'm a little disappointed with the design/construction, but for the most part it's acceptable. What's not acceptable is that after attaching some of the trigger clamps, not one but TWO of the wing nut screws (the little  thumb screws you use to tighten the clamps onto the bars) have stripped and come off in my hand. I don't feel like I was over-tightening them at all; maybe the previous owner didn't alter them much....

Anyway, I now have 2 clamps I can't use because the nuts have stripped. Anyone know if this is a regular problem and whether 2Box or somewhere else offers replacement wing nuts to keep my kit together??

I have Alesis Strike cymbal which is meant to be dual zone but I read somewhere that all of those cymbals are actually three zone but only wired for dual zone, or to put it another way, the module that comes with the Alesis Strike is apparently only set up to accept mono TS cables but the cymbals are all internally 3-zone.

I just wondered whether anyone had any luck using them as three zone cymbals with 2box modules? And if so, what trigger pad settings did you use?

This is a really random question.... Does anybody know of any DIY drum module builds that might be able to handle 2Box sound libraries/kits?

Like, if I built a micro PC using a Raspberry Pi or similar, are there any sampler/drum module OSs that would be able to play back 2Box dkit/sample libraries??

Basically I want a second DrumIt module to use with a second kit without paying for a completely new 2Box module......??
