There have been some problems reported with the SD card adapter- (the card itself uses a micro sd inside)

You could try to another sd adapter before changing Sd card.

Hi!

I am afraid that it looks quite ok. I would have expected a higher pfact value - (around 100) and maybe a bit lower raw value when the hi-hat is in the open position. You could trim the raw value on the potentiometer on the rear when it is open to be around 850. The gap between high/low is around 140 - and that is also an ok value.  Looks ok. You could try to set the pedal curve to neg 2 and see if this would impact. If you look on the raw value indicator on screen while changing the pedal…is it moving between open closed extremely fast…of is it possible to make the raw value to stop in the middle?

It was sending midi from Logic to my Drumit 5 MKII...it was totally impossible to change any midi note/mappings in the MKII...and it just triggered on rubbish. Trust me...I know midi...:-) ...after several hundreds of hours as beta tester for Addictive Drums. :-)  Then I used the same settings with my DrumIt Three...and it work fine and exactly as expected. Same OS, Same SD card...which made me suspicious...(I have a pre-release of the MKII)

Setup guides and tips / Re: DrumIt 5 MkI and BFD3

I would start to look in BFD3…and the midi settings. (Relax about the DAW setting for the moment)

The midi settings in 2box is quite generic …it sends midi out on certain midi notes…so it should not be too hard to adapt to these signals inside BFD3.

Hi -

Does the card work if you reinstall it in the MKII again? (Is it the 32GB?)

These cards are formatted with FAT32 and 32K cluster size…nothing special here and they should be readable in any PC or Mac “as is”. There is normally just one partition on these cards.

I would look carefully on the SD adapter that 2box uses…they use a micro sd inside the SD. Sometimes there have been problems with these adapters…you can use any SD adapter to check this.

Short answer: yes.

Set the trigger type to cyps on the Tom input (if it is a piezo/switch cymbal pad) and change the sound on that input to a cymbal sound,

Check one thing first...on the hihat sound looking on the ENV page in kit mode...Is the parameter "Layer" set to "VAR"? It sounds like it could accidently have been set to "Fix" or "Top"...

Second - what kind of values do you get when you are calibrating the hihat?
HCAL page in unit mode...
RAW? (What is the related raw value on closed and open hi-hat?)
POFF?
PFACT?
HTYP?

 :)

So you say that not even when selecting the Swiss hihat sound…gives you any of the variations between the fully closed to fully open sound?

Hi!

I was looking on your created dsnd file - but to really understand how it should be arranged...I open a old hi-hat sound like the "Swiss SE 14 HiHat"...you will see that to be able to get the sound going from closed to open, using the pedal, the sounds needs be imported and arranged to the same "Zone". The Swiss Hh has about 80 layers per hit...going from closed to open in the same Zone.

You have only one layer in each hit zone...so if you restart your project - you need to import the samples to the same zone. Then I think the layers need to be a bit different in velocity to be able to handle it right. Check the Swiss hh example in DSound Manager.

Hi!

  • Does your go Edrum hihat work with the 2box standard factory sounds?
  • Which tool did you use to create the hihat sound from your waves

Setup guides and tips / Re: HH caobration only working for one kit? 5 Mk1

No, the Hihat calibration setting is a global setting and when done…will affect all kits equally. If not-I would examine the hi-hat and the 2box module more carefully. Something is wrong here.

Sharing drum sounds - wav / aiff / rex / Re: Making a wav file from .dsnd
« on: October 09, 2021, 05:46:40 AM »
The tool used for exporting sounds from dsnd files is a separate tool in the Drumit Manager offering called Dsound Manager.

When using the exported wave files in other module - most modules like Roland etc do only support one shot waves…so you need to pick one of the exported wave samples from the export.

A note - you can drag and drop a dsnd directly into audacity and see all the hits in wave. No, need to change the extension of the name.

Dsound Manager is a fantastic tool - you can do more nice stuff in it!

I tried to replay some MIDI recorded drums from Logic Pro over midi to my MKII today…but after 2-3 hours of trying to get the right map for 2box…and still not getting the kick, snare or hihat to work over midi, only the cymbals and toms…I changed to my DrumIt Three…and it worked directly. Same OS, same map in both systems.

Have anybody else seen this problem with MKII?

Best regards
