Bump.  No takers yet.  Still open to offers.
#2
I am open to dividing the set.  make me an offer.

Lots of views, no PMs or replies...  Someone do me and themselves a favor.  This is a kit in perfect shape.

Reasonable offers will be considered.  This is around $3,000 worth of gear if you were to replicate this at retail.

Hey y'all..

I have my 2box kit up for sale.  See photos below.  This kit has been very well cared for, played in a home studio and has never been gigged or banged around.

I will hate to see this go, but I suddenly have a lot of diapers and baby clothes bills in my near future, so I need to liquidate unfortunately.

Included in this kit:

Complete drumit5 kit:

-Drumit5 Module w/ external SD mod and 32GB SD card, with all stock sounds and several additional sets
-three Drumit tom pads w/ 682drums mesh heads
-Drumit snare pad w/ 682drums mesh head
-Drumit bass drum pad w/682drums mesh head
-Drumit rack.  Rack has been modified- the left side is shortened.  See photos.
-2 Drumit cymbal arms
-Drumit hihat sensor and pad
-2 drumit cymbal pads
-all cables/ties required to make the system work
-also included is the full set of stock 2box rubber heads for tom/snare/bass pads.  I switched to 682 heads early, so this set of heads is very nearly new.

Extras:

-one additional drumit cymbal pad
-Zildjian Gen16 crash/ride with Jman 2box ride sensor installed
-Zildjian Gen16 hihat set with Jman 2box hihat sensor and control box
-Zildjian Gen16 crash
-Zildjian Gen16 crash/ride
-Complete set of Zildjian Gen16 sensors, with controller.
-25 ft. 6-way RCA cable, for up to 6 channel output from the 2box controller to your monitors, DAW, or whatever

This is enough gear to run 3 crashes, one hihat, and one ride through the 2box unit, OR run the 2box cymbals through the unit with the complete Gen16 setup on its own, or a hybrid of both.  I used this kit with the 2Box controller only, but the Gen16 hardware all functions as it should.

Note:  the throne, hihat stand, rug, bass pedal, and anything else not explicitly listed above is NOT included.

Kit is located in the metro detroit area- local pickup would be very greatly preferred.

$2250 gets the lot.

Sorry, these are nickel.

Hello all.

I recently purchased a Gen 16 setup that came with a huge number of parts, so now I'd like to get rid of all the stuff I don't need.  All prices are negotiable but do not include shipping, feel free to PM offers.  My willingness to cover shipping will depend heavily on how far around the globe you are located.  Here's what I have available:

1- Zidljian Gen16 DCP: $190  (includes power supply and mount)
1- Gen16 18" crash/ride:  $80
1- Gen16 14" crash:  $50
3- Gen16 Direct Source Pickups: $50 each (includes pickups, mounts, sensors, etc)
3- Gen16 AE pickups: $15 each
1- Gen16 snake cable: $20
1- box of cymbal washers/mounts/isolators etc.  I'll throw this in with whoever buys a cymbal.

Total cost as I have them listed would be $535.

I would also do the whole lot for $450.

Thanks guys!

soon how do we convert those to stereo or mono .wav files then?
#8
I can try and share the ones I've made if anyone wants to try and use them.  I don't know how to host files but I can email them to someone who does.

This was my first attempt at making .dsnds so I can't guarantee perfection.  But when I push the button they make cymbal sounds.  So.

I would agree about mobility... for me it's not important, as my 2box kit is exclusively a studio tool.  It that wasn't the case, I would probably be considering finding another solution.

I spent some time on this, and created .dsnd's for each drum.  The crash and ride cymbals sound pretty good.  For the hihat, I have the 2box on my desk, not hooked up, so I can only hear the open sound, and it sounds good too.

For the other drums, however, there's a problem I don't know how to fix.  All of the tom, snare, and kick samples have extremely low levels- when the 2box editor processes them and I click a layer to hear it in the software, no sound is played, and the level shown for each layer ranges from -99 dB to -93 dB.

Seems like the samples aren't dumping into the editor correctly... anyone know a fix for this?

Yes.  I think the rack is reasonably well designed, and solid when assembled correctly.  I just happened to get a few bad parts with mine.  It happens.

Heard back from Hoshino, they are sending me replacement parts.

I was disappointed with the quality of the rack, but the customer service from both 2box and Hoshino has been very good.

I emailed 2box support and Hoshino support right before my last post.  Heard back from 2box within 6 hours.  Still haven't heard from Hoshino- I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because of the holiday week.

I will update this thread once I hear back from Hoshino.

So, I've officially had my 2box kit for about 5 days.  Today the band got together and did a little light recording.

I have to say, from the standpoint of sound, I'm blown away by this kit.  The quality of the pads, the feel, the ease of making on-the-fly adjustments on the box itself, are all amazing.  I'm VERY happy with this purchase.

I also have to say.... the rack that comes with this kit (at least the one that was boxed with my kit...) is an utter piece of garbage.

When my kit arrived, one of the hinged studs on one end of both one long rack bar and one short bar were totally stripped, Making both bars useless.  Luckily, I was able to set up the kit with only one of the side 'wings' attached, and swap one of the end clamps from the one short bar onto that long bar so that the kit could be played.

Also, one of the mounting clamps, the little plastic ball was somehow made incorrectly; the hole in the center for the mounting rod was way too small, which made it completely impossible to put the wing nut on the bolt with a rod mounted.  If I insert any of the tom, cymbal, or unit mounting rods into this clamp, it will not close enough for the wing nut to engage the bolt.  Even if I take the plastic ball out of the clamp, the rod cannot be pushed all the way through the ball- the hole is too small.

I also managed to strip one of the bolts on another one of the mounting clamps, but tightening it slightly.  I again was lucky that my hi-hat has legs and doesn't need to be clamped to the rack; If I needed support for my hihat, I would have needed to use the other short bar, and the rack would have been completely useless.  Even now, my 2box controller is sitting on a pile of boxes since I don't have a way to clamp it to the rack.

Overall, VERY disappointed with the quality of this rack.  The sounds, the pads, the hi-hat mechanism, the box, the heads, the feel (especially choke-ability) of the cymbals, all really really awesome.

The rack?  Hot garbage.

All in all, I'm still happy with my purchase- the sound is the most important part to me.  However, I'm hoping a call or email to 2box will help with some rack parts.  Having a brand new rack show up in near-unusable condition was very disappointing.

Hey yall.

I'm in the market for a pair of headphones for recording drums.  I'm very familiar with the 'industry standard' Sony and Sennheiser offerings, but while I was fooling around online I read a few reviews of these Direct Sound EX29s.  They look to me to be the best pair on the market from the isolation standpoint, and appear to have very flat response, so good for listening to the mix while playing over it.

So, anyone using them?  Any info on these compared to the Sony/Sennheiser?
