Hello guys
Does anybody know the plug size/type of an original 2box power adaptor? I don't have the unit with me at the time and have no way to measure it... I bought a spare one some time ago but the plug is different and want to resolder it. Any help is appreciated  ;) cheers!

Hello! 2box shared the news on Facebook that they uploaded new samples. Unfortunately, the download page on their website does not say which sounds are new. There's a filter called "latest" but I think I already heard it all. Does anybody know which sounds were added ? Downloading all of it individually and comparing it with the ones I have on my disk will take forever ::) cheers

Hey guys,

is it me or the new 2box online sample library is actually missing a lot of sounds that the old website had?

For instance, where are those sweet snares and kicks from drumasonic?  :-[

all the loops, songs etc... Goddammit

Hi guys, long time no see!

Last weekend I played at a wedding gig just as usual. I basically use two kits live, one acoustic sounding and the other electro kinda type. I changed from one kit to the other, started playing the song and all the sound sources were mixed up! When I hit the kick drum, the crash cymbal was triggered, hit the hi hat, and the ride cymbal was triggered and so on. It was all a bloody mess, non of the sound sources matched with the pads/inputs. It is the first time something like this happened to me. We had to take a technical break and apologize to the guests, it was super embarrassing. Fortunately, after rebooting the module all was fine and it didn't happen again.

Does any of you guys experienced similar issues? Do you have any idea what could cause such behaviour?

I appreciate your help. Cheers!

Hello guys!

Last night I experienced problems with my hi hat cymbal. When I hit the cymbal with my stick I sometimes get chick sound... It only happens when the cymbal is closed. I tried different calibration positions, like stepping on pedal lightly or hard during calibration. The problem is occurring occasionally , but sometimes few times in a row, like something is misaligned inside the cymbal. When I flexed the cymbal slightly upward on the playing side it seemed to help for some time. I don't know what to do... I haven't checked the hall sensor inside the hi hat yet but it worked 95% of the hits... Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Another problem is the rubber wear... I always hit one side of the cymbal because it plays best on that particular area. I want to try to rotate the rubber by 90 or 180 degrees to prolong cymbal life. Is it hard to dismantle the cymbal? Any tips how to take the rubber off without damaging the piezo etc?

Thanks guys for any tips

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / 2box pad wiring diagram
November 09, 2015, 04:18:22 PM
Hello, is there somewhere a clear wiring diagram for 2box pads? I'm always confused by that tip, sleve, hot ring naming stuff  ::) I found some info on cymbals, but nothing on pads. Or could someone write it in a clear way that a noob can understand and not confuse anything?  ;D Help much appreciated guys! Cheers!

Hello, long time no see :)

I have a question for you guys. Let's say I want to create a dance-electro kit and I already have the single hits wave I need. For instance 50 different kick drums, 50 snares etc, all one hit per wave file. Is there a way to make like a batch conversion? I tried in dsoundtool and 2box editor and I have to do it one by one which is tiresome. Is there a way to automate the process? Like choose folder with waves and then every wave is converted into a single hit dsnd file.

Cheers

Hey guys,

do you know any source of the samples for a marching band snare drum? I really love the sound of those but couldn't really find anything.

Hello. I'm writing to you with some bad news... My hi hat sensing doesn't work. It's just open all the way up. When I open a HPED page to calibrate it, the diagram doesn't indicate any change when moving the magnet. I opened the box underneath the cymbal to take a look at the circuit board, and with a naked eye it all seems good. No cable is detached or path on the board broken... Guys, help! I have a gig to play on the New Year's Eve!  :-[ What steps can I take to even try to diagnose the problem? My brother has some experience with electronics like fixing radios and stuff so if you have any ideas where to look for the problem just let me know. I hope that the fault is not in the module...  :-[

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / chick sound problem
November 15, 2014, 07:43:08 PM
Hey, it's been a while. I have a question to you guys.

We all now that 2box module produces the hi hat chick sound from a splash sound simply by cutting it when the pedal is pressed and hold. The problem is that when barking a hi hat it just doesn't sound real, you can here this awful and disrupt cut. I don't really need the splash sound so I thought I put the chick sound instead. It sounds better, but the cutting is still present. I played with the hold setting and it seems to resolve the problem to some extend. ON the other hand, if I dial up the hold too much, the open hi hat sound also rings and the barking is impossible. The problem is visible with the sounds that have much reverb.. That abrupt cut is driving me crazy. Is there a way to resolve this. It could be done if you can edit the hold setting to each zone separately... Then I would turn the hold on the zone 3 of the hi hat all the way up without affecting other zones... Please. help  :D

Hello folks!

I've finally received my 2box ! :patbat2box: I'm more than a happy user, the kit is brilliant ! I've sold my acoustic set to afford 2box and no regrets whatsoever. The in-built sounds are really awesome and in my opinion Roland can stand no chance.

Recently, I've started to build dsnd sounds using Addictive Drums and the Drumit Five Editor. So as we know, files are automatically assigned according to the volume of individual samples. But... it takes into consideration the loudest peak (transient?) and not the average volume of the given hit. It actually causes trouble with Addictive drums because it happens that the loudest hits have lower volume then lighter hits (because of the peak, transient) and they are assigned as being more silent. But in reality, they are way louder but the transient is quieter.. ; but the RMS? volume is larger. I can supply you with the screenshot of a waveform of those sounds if something isn't clear.

And here goes my question: Is there any way to rearrange manually the layers in dsnd files? The arrangement of layers must be included in the file, duh. So any way? some workaround? thoughts? :)

And another one, I'm curious if anyone knows (I guess the developers of dsoundtool and sdse) how dsnd files are structured? Are they somehow compiled? Sorry for noob terminology but I'm no expert. So, is there any way to crack into such file and maybe then fiddle with the layers? :)
