Post by: Jman on March 11, 2011, 07:52:25 AM
Was wondering .... are any of the toms in the 2Box sounds Octobans... thought maybe the Phillips kit might have a couple?? Or anyone got any Octoban sample ideas?

As with roto tomtoms and good Simmons sds-5 samples
If you find them, they're 1-shot
and not usable

Just a suggestion -

if you really wanted the sounds, you cd take the one shot and use something like audacity
or sound forge to multiply it by 20 or 30 at different volume levels - and then you have what
you need to make a dsound file.

and if you wanted to get really clever you cd maybe compress the fade at lower volumes (and
change the pitch perhaps) so that they sound less resonant at lower velocities.

I use a couple of files that I made up this way from 5 level samples and personally I don't think
you can tell.

(Sound Forge has an automated 'batch' feature which makes this kind of thing much easier).
