Well check it out, I own à Sennheiser HD265, it's from 2003 and the cable en earcovers are not so good anymore.

I decided to buy à BeyerDynamic DT770M specialy made for drummers.

Well, maybe is good in low, but the high and mid is not great. >:(

My old Sennheiser is performing à lot better. So I decided to sell the DT770M (for sale at dutch MP) and buy some new earcovers and à new cable for my HD265.

I will try the 2Box also with my Shure E4c's inear, i will let you know.

digitalDrummer has done separate reviews of closed headphones and in-ear monitors. They were tested specifically for e-drums.

I'm actually using a Sennheiser HD250 which was the headphones my wife was using in her music studio.
Normally, I don't like the sound of a Sennheiser, but this model fits perfectly and sounds great.

I was surprise to be satisfied with a Sennheiser actually  :)

Sony MDR-V6 is what I went with.  Sound is amazing (to me at least) and the cost is excellent.

I am using fostex t40rp and it is good for its price. You may find it 100$ from e-bay. I would like to buy AKG 702 or 701 but it is too expensive for me.

erm, open-backed headphones aren't a good choice for e-drums; ideally you want closed-back or in-ear to block out as much of the stick and beater noise as possible.

I love these headphones - http://www.extremeheadphones.com/products/ex-29-headphones

They aren't extreme isolating as they claim still plenty of ambient noise bleeds into them.  I know they are above your spending limit but they seriously kick ass.  You can really drive them and they have a nice bass response.

There are lot of recommended choices. Based on things I've been reading, Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro (80ohm) are among best for this purpose, especially if you like more bass. There is even M version for drummers, but that would be more for live/acoustic drums monitoring, as they are reportedly less comfortable (but with better isolation), and do not sound so good.

At the moment I'm using my ancient Sennheiser HD570, and they are very comfortable and pretty decent sounding for home practice (if kids are not very loud :) ), but they cannot cope with kick sound, which is awful :(

I use Beyerdynamic DT-770 M (80ohm), I think they are excellent, sound quality is really good, 35dB external noise isolation, I can't hear the awful racket when hitting the 2Box cymbals, I found them a little uncomfortable at first when wearing for extended periods, but that may have just been the headband being broken in !

I use in ears, Sennheiser cx-95 and Beyerdynamics DTX 100, and they're both great!

Is the noise blocking of the DT-770 pro (80 ohm) sufficient for use with 2box ?
I know the DT-770 M will do better (lacks a bass reflex port) but the pro has better sound.
Currently using a Sennheiser HD380pro which sound crap.

I went with the Sennheiser HD 280. Really comfortable and good isolation, not too much bottom end and inexpensive.
