Hoping to hear what options are out there that will give close to/match headphone sound quality in an amp or pa. I have the simmons DA200S bit it doeant come close to the sound i get from headphones =( trying to keep under $800.
All I can say is that the Mackie SRM450 I had years ago was excellent as my stage monitor. I have no idea of the price . Mine was made in Japan but I think they're made in China now ... like everything else.
Yammies DXR15 (alternatively DBR15 or DSR15) will do with an excellent sound quality.
I'd suggest something with a sub woofer and two small satellites. HK do a nice once but there are others out there. It would be easy to get something big and bulky (not to mention expensive) but just as a monitor, you wouldn't require something crazy loud.
I hear the Alto TS215 are pretty clear. Any experience on that? Also, what frequency response should I consider for the bass drum?
