"If you want to keep the kit pieces on separate MIDI tracks, set each kit piece to send on a unique MIDI channel, then configure each of your MIDI tracks in your DAW to only receive input from one of those channels..."
If this is true.... then how would I assign samples to these separate midi channels using superior drums? would I have to have an instance of superior drums on each midi channel?
That would mean 5 (kick, snare, toms) instances of superior drums in my DAW project, as I record with real cymbals.
My goal would be to separate each kit piece for further processing in my DAW.
Thanks
forget about it, I think I have found the answer:
right click on the SD2 name in the FX box for your track and
choose "Build multichannel routing for output of selected FX" and reaper
will automatically build all the track channels and assign the outputs. At
this point all you have to do is go into SD2's mixer and right click over
the "Out 1/2" popup and scroll down and choose "Multichannel" and SD2 will
assign its default multichannel routing in the SD2 mixer.
