Title: reso head, mesh or mylar

For my reso head what will be will keep my kick a little quieter,  a mesh or mylar head, or won't it matter?

If you keep the Mylar head as the resonant head I would recommend dampening that head with some foam, or a pillow or 2. A mesh head for resonant is quieter, but no problem if you muffle the Mylar. Even with a mesh batter head you get some resonance from the drum with a Mylar resonant head.

I converted a cheap pearl snare export using a triggerbar from rdrums and left the mylar reso head but it was loud!! sounded like a high pitched tiny timbale... so I think the kick will be similar... as jman said, use dampening.
