do you know any source of the samples for a marching band snare drum? I really love the sound of those but couldn't really find anything.
BFD BOMB is where you will find lots of Marching percussion including snares. Slap the drummer had BFD2 up for sale and he owned it if I remember right. I'm not sure if he sold his stuff or not:

stock sounds has a snare drum called "sousa" which is an old school corps style snare drum...it's a little wet, but you could probably tune it into the range you're looking for...if you're looking for a modern, Kevlar head sound, find the driest sound you can and play with the tuning...bury a wood block in the mix about 9 db down to add that clicky sound...
