Title: Jman hhihat controller ?? Netherlands Drummers??
Post by: Soundmanneal on January 02, 2015, 01:25:28 PM
Hi ,
Is there any 1 in holland using the Steathdrums Hihat controller from Jman ?
I would really like to try 1 out before ordering 1 out the US,
I allready bought the 32gig expansion kit from Jman. It was a good deal untill the import tax added another 25 euro on top.
As the controller cost 110US i expect the import tax will add 40/50 euro to the price.

I can't believe how bad my 2 box hihat pad plays ,
At the moment I am using a ddrum 4se hhat pad and module for the hhat, I really dont want to have to use 2 modules Just to get a playable HHat sound.

greeting from Holland  Neal :patbat2box:

Hi ,
where in the Netherlands do you live ? I live in Germany 20km east of Venlo.
I'm building my own controller in the moment and i'm going test my prototype tonight
If it works out we can probably arrange something.

I'm Dutch but I ditched my 2Box hihat summer 2013. I switched to GEN16's because I wanted to play on real hats to keep the difference in play-style between A-kits and E-kits as minimal as possible. Can't help you with JMans controller because of this.

Take care.

hi

some people here are using the original controller board present in the hihat ... you just have to put it in a project box and solder one more  jack in order to plug the hihat  ...

Have a search in the forum , there are some topics about that ...

heres one : http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,897.0.html

this way , you can even use the HH cymbal as a third cymbal ...

this will cost you less ...

By the way , i own on of the first HHboard made by Manfred 3 or 4 years ago ... it still works like a charm (....thanx manfred  )

I guess that JMAN boards are just the same ... there are no wearing parts in this system ; as it uses a magnetic field instead of a pot ...

hope this helps ...

Hi Neal,

made some tests today with my prototype and it seem to work
perfect :) I don't have a comparison because i don't have the
original 2Box HH. But compared to my Roland HH on the TD-8 it's
working much better.

I ordered some parts to make a SMD version. As soon as i get them
i"ll come back to you. Maybe we can meet in Eindhoven then for
a coffee  :)

Hi edtc,

you're welcome! Nice to hear that you still use the board and that it still works fine!

Regards, Manfred
