hey everybody
i have a distortion on tom1/2/3 and kick only
just bought the drumit from overseas, all set up and calibrated.
updated to 1.26, tried connecting out 1/2 directly to studio monitors, also in my soundcard (in).
also tried the adapter on different electricity groups, now currently it has its own socket straight from the wall, also tried 2 other adapters (carefully) but no luck!
i still have distortion on tom1/2/3/ and my kick, actually i just found out that it has distortion all over the unit snare hi hat etc but you dont hear that when its a hi-end/shorter sample.
been trying things for 1.5 days now...i just want to play drums
any idea new drum brothers n sisters?

is it a slight distortion or a big one ?
My 2 cents:
Have a look on gains and sensitivity for each pad.
Have a look on volumes (0db should be max).
Have a look on mixer levels.
Have a look on supply (50 or 60 Hz). Remember Europe is 50, US 60
I've got mine also from overseas, with strange sounds and config, and the first thing I do was to reset to factory defaults.

the distortion is half the sample lets say, so yeah pretty bad.
all levels are correct and i even played last night without distortion for the first time, then it came back after an hour or so.
today the same, been playing for an hour and suddenly the distortion comes back.
adapter is pretty hot so that might be the case, thou im not fond of changing the adapter as i suck in amp/volt and what not..
bought my drumit in the netherlands and im living in beirut/lebanon, i should check the voltage here i guess but then again isn't a adapter suppose to adapt?
ive read that others had the same prob, first hour is fine and then it comes back..
and just when i was getting the hang of it ;)
Maybe a bad cable or loose connection?
all connections are properly inserted (module & drums) and the audio out cables are from a good brand and working well.
i left the adapter for 30 min, started playing without distortion but it came back after 5min, very frustrating!
i would like to hear what the others drummers did to resolve this as i saw some pages with the same error.

Adapter transfers local power to power the 2box can handle. It will not adapt to your local power. Holland is 230 V and 50 Hz. I do not know if the 2box adapter handles 110 volts well.

If yours is 110 volt the module and adapter may have a hard time delivering the power, please check before something melts.

2box and DrumIt Five are trademarks of 2box AB Sweden ... Precautions. Please make sure the supplied power adapter has the right mains voltage for your area ...
Heating is a sympthom of undervoltage supply (same watts delivered, then more amps, that are the ones to heat according to Joule law !!)
I strongly recommend to inmediatly unplug the adapter and check for voltage level. According with the information available to me, Lebanon has 230 V level, but also 110-120 in some areas. Alternatively, the 2Box supply source could be different than 230.
If everything is fine, let's check alternative adapter. Required level for DiT5 is 18 V AC (not DC, according the manual)
i have a universal adapter, setting on 9V and then there is a polarity switch that i need to google to have the right side...it has a icon that says:
+ in the middle, then 2 options, switch to the left (half circle open connected to +) or switch to the right (half circle closed with connected to +)
also im thinking of buying a regulator to make sure it has 18 VAC at 500 mA (9 VA) output at all times.

9 volts won't do. Better get the 18 V AC. It will probably solve your issues and keep your fingers crossed no real damage has been done.

i will stay with the drumit adapter for now and get an automatic voltage regulator so i always have the right voltage output..
9V is half the required voltage, so feeding current doubles !! That's the heating !!
On the other hand AC does not require any special polarity (just DC is +/- !!). I'm wondering if your are feeding DC instead AC !!. That's really dangereous for the module electronics board.
I hope you not to have any dramatic fault due wrong supply

universal adapters are DC , be carefull , be aware that 2 box module requires 18V AC ( alternative ...)

if it has a polarity switch then it is an AC -> DC converter. you should not use this at all with the 2 Box module.
you need an AC -> AC power supply.
the input voltage must match what is coming out of your wall socket, which will be either ~100VAC, or ~240VAC.
the output voltage should be 18VAC, NOT 18VDC
do not use your existing (wildly incorrect) adaptor!

problem solved, it was due to a electricity shortage problem from the government..
all sounds well now ;)
