I play a lot of Death and Thrash metal and live obviously I use a drop clutch to keep the hats closed when playing double bass.

Anyone had any luck with what drop clutch works with the 2box arrangement on the hats?

I can't see why it wouldn't work.  It functions like a real hihat stand ergo... The problem is because they are electronic, when they are closed, they sound closed, as opposed to kind of sloshy when your foot isn't on the pedal of acoustic hats.

Check out the Coady Clutch and Coady Wash Control. The Wash Control will hold your cymbals open exactly where you want them, then you can set the "open" spacing a little wider and still have a perfectly operational drop clutch. You can even make the operation hands free.

See www.billdidit.ca

Slap the drummer

another solution wd be make up a hihat file with the dsound tool, so that when its open it sounds
closed etc etc - this wd mean as well you cd fine tune so that the "closed sound" isn't too tight.

Cheers for all the suggestions guys. The only problem is I was more talking about the physical problem of using a drop clutch as you cannot use your own clutch as the hi hat on the 2box has a kinda integrated clutch.

Hi,

this is my solution:

With the switch you can choose between "open" and "closed". And with the poti you can adjust the level in closed position.
