Hi!

I think the function of PS could be incorporated in a easy way...(to get the triggers to react on the position hit on the drum) but the hard part is that you need to redo all sounds. It is like adding a new dimension to the sounds. First you need to sample the drum (could be up to 128 velocity layers) and the you need to add up to 128 position layers of sound. In the best of world you need 16384 hits of samples to create on drum...but not even Roland have this or are even close in their PS solutions.

Hi!

I have kept mine on. I don’t know the impact but my feeling is that it has no major impact for the sensors or triggering if they are mounted or not. (I kept them on for my three kits)

There is actually resonance mesh heads offered on the market. I believe that for an example 682drums have these on their site.

Yes, thats right. The Drumit 3 and 5 dont support PS. The reason is that Roland have been controlling the patent for decades... but I think the patent is expiring this year.

Could you name any specific 64GB card?  ::)

I have been using the ATP 64GB (same manufacturer as the original 4GB)

Hmm...AcTR3 is for large drums...kicks...

I would have chosen the following settings for a snare:

Actr1, xtalk off, gain 8, thres: -44, curve pos1, mask 2, Lxtr vhigh

I am using a vh-12...occasionally with DrumIt Five.

You can see my best settings for VH-12 in the manual: https://zourman.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/ZD_manual_VH12_17.pdf

Hi!

You could easily Records your Friends keyboard by sending 30-50 different predefined levels of velocity over midi from a DAW program...like Cubase or Logic. Record the results...chop each hit into a wave files using the dsoundtool or the DrumIt Editor. Both works...and it will give you a dsnd file which can be placed on the 2box module.

70ths disco...I had to google that...found a nice article about the subject in moderndrummer mag.

Zildjian (not A Custom), Paiste 2002, or Sabian AA lines
Bass drums were shallower, with the average kick being 22″ x 14″...wood beater...
Silver dot head on Ludwig Vistalite or Slingerland
single-headed “concert toms.”
Snare drums were often metal, either chrome or brass (à la the Ludwig Black Beauty), with the occasional acrylic model.

I also found that Addictive Drums has a nice ADPak called Vintage Dry...that felt like the good old days in my ears. :-) https://www.xlnaudio.com/products/addictive_drums_2/adpak/vintage_dry

Yep - I'd agree with 7A Nylons - they are my choice too.....
I don't have access to custom stick makers, but I did want to make mine a little quieter on rimshots so I tried some heat-shrink tubing on them...….

...in 2Box Orange  ;D

If any interested - you can find my e-sticks on https://zourman.com/product/zourman-drums-e-sticks/

Best regards & Merry Christmas!

Hi!

Me and Allan at digitalDrummer had recently a chat about how a pair of real e-sticks would be designed and have for kind of specs. Allan have tested many e-sticks from several manufacturers in dD through the years.

We decided that a pair with the stick size 7A and which was equipped with a nylon tip would probably be our perfect choice when selecting models.

Of course, I’ve needed to try is in reality, so I contacted CustomStix.com and got these manufactured and branded with my and digitalDrummer logos...:-)
