Hi,
Firstly, please bare with me, Pretty new the wold of electrics, years ago I bought a Roland TD3 for practice. i knew it was not good enough to use live, so didn't bother with changing sounds ( even if i could or couldn't). I recently bought a 2BOX for my teaching studio, albeit it is a second hand unit. But it came more or less brand new and still in the box. Although there was no USB leads or CD / link for the computer software. Should I have had this?
I hate using the word pro drummer, but I make my living through drums, recently I picked up a gig which would benefit from a hybrid kit ( those Roland TM2's sold it for me) So thought instead of shelling out on one of those, i'll use the 2BOX module. The standard sounds still don't cut it for me for the tracks I'll need to play live on, so been thinking of loading some new sound files on there, although I don't know where to begin with what i need and where to get the sounds from? I have also noticed that there is not a lot of memory on the Module left to do this, how would I create more room without losing the essentials?
One last thing, I cannot find the metronome on the unit. I have followed the instructions of where to find it, but it is not there, is there a way to reinstall it? I'm currently using my clickstation run through my Studio PA but would prefer to use it all on the module.
Any help advice is appreciated.

Thanks
G

hey there, here are some links to get you started.

some more ready-made sounds, firmware updates, and the 2 Box editor are available from the 2 Box website:

http://2box.se/World/index.php

since your module is second-hand, i would first check to see if it is running the latest firmware (v. 1.26).

the biggest SD card you can use in the module is 32 GB. the stock SD card is only 4 GB though, and once you increase the size you can no longer modify the files on the card using the USB connection (which is also very slow). for this reason many people are doing the SD card extender mod. this enables you to swap cards very quickly, and also to quickly remove the card to use in an SD reader with your computer. a step-by-step guide to doing the mod plus recommended SD cards can be found here:

the best method for creating new kits for the module using drum libraries like BFD3 and Superior Drummer is to use SDSE, which in combination with dsoundtool and Reaper largely automates the process. note that SDSE is Windows only. see the sticky threads here:
