Sorry everyone, I inadvertently gave you some wrong info. It seems you shouldn't format an SD/SDHC card without a special format utility, (I learn something new everyday). Here's a link to one made by Transcend, it works on other manufacturer's cards too. If you have any question about your card working properly, copy it's contents onto your hard drive, THEN run this utility on your card and copy the files and folders back to the card.

I have wiped my 16gb SD card and re formatted using the SDFormatter utility, and copied the 2Box data back onto the card.  I did not notice a difference in speed though after doing this.  In future I will continue to use the SDFormatter tool, but after 20 minutes of testing I honestly can't see a difference.

If you are having memory card errors or card speed issues, it is worth a try for sure.

I got the same and it won't work using the usb port of the module due to its 4gb limitation. You'll have to mount it externally using a SD card extender cable for it to work with a mac. As soon as you plug it in the mac will tell you that the card is not formatted or that you cannot copy any files to it.

But no, no formatting needed. Just don't use the usb port of the module.

so if i use extender cable adapter, i can simply take the card out and put it in the card reader slot on mac and thats it...if so, can you tell me please, where can i buy such a cable...i was looking and i didnt find anything, except on offer from Australia on ebay...

A month or so ago these SDHC card extenders were very available to purchase on eBay .... Like you I did an online search and found nothing really.... searched the net in general ... that's the bad news ... the good news is I just ordered a lot of 20 of these from AliExpress ... I want to make sure they do not become totally extinct and I'm left with only the one I am using now ... so I will have a few available if you can't locate them  ..... whenever they get to me .... J

4GB limit!? What? I didint know this and purchased and installed a 32GB card. Can't access it as you mentioned. Very disappointed. Why the limit?

Hi Waynec42,

the boot program which handles the USB transfer is limited to 4 GB cards. Thats why you run into problems if you try to access a card with more than 4GB over USB. Here you can see Deve Lopers post:

http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,464.msg5223.html#msg5223

A workaround is to make the SD-Card accessible from the outside. Then you can simply remove it from the module and put it in the card reader of your PC to load new sounds. A few people just used a SD-Card extender as described in the following thread:

http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,991.0.html

Others also modified the housing in order to have access to the card or even replaced the SD-Card holder at the circuit board. But using an extender has the advantage that you can revert the mod.

Thanks for that. I obviously didn't know this but do now.

Had a quick look on eBay but no extender cables. :-(
