well, to cut a long story short, i have a problem. my right cymbal is acting a bit strange at times. sometimes when i make a fill or break or whatever you guys call it, and i hit the crash at the one of the next first meter, it doesnt register at all.
it is not a dynamics issue, i hit fairly hard. i havent noticed it anywhere else but in the end of breaks. and it doesnt hapopen all the time. so when i try to create the problem, i cant do it. it happens whenever the cymbal want. ok if it occurs once per day i dont care. 2 days ago it happened all the time when i was studying some linear breaks.
when i just play a groove and hit crashes all the time it doesnt happen. i dunno what to think. strange enough...

today for example it didnt happen and i was playing for 3 hours. yesterday it happened...

any ideas?

Have you tried it with a different cable?  If that isn't it, my guess is you have a failing or loose sensor in the cymbal.

BURNIN AMBITION

to be honest i havent tried that. actually i havent tried anything as i cant really recreate the problem. it seems random. i will change place of my ride and this crash and see what happens. this needs investigating i guess

Having a long trackrecord in electronics this may be wear and tear in cable, wires or solderjoints. Start with replacing the cable, then swap cymbal, work in a logical order and change one thing at a time.

just a quick update. my old crash was with the kind of problem. i changed plashes with my ride, so my old crash is my ride now and the old ride is the new crash.
the thing i noticed is that now the new crash is equally loud as the other crash i have. when i put the old crash as iride i dont notice so far any problem. perhaps it iscause i dont crash my ride that much.and since it is a ride, i cant notice any problem in volume but after my little experiment, yes definitely the old crash (aka my new ride)is definitely not as loud as the other cymbals. so it is not a cable thing. do i have a wire ready to snap or wht? should i open the cymbal? i am afraid to do so. and what shoud i do? or should i live it as is, since now that i made my odl crash a ride i dont see any problem? perhaps the real problem was with theedge since all problems were appearing when i hit the edge of thecymbal? any thoughts
thanx

Congrats: you isolated the problem to 1 cymbal and to the edge of that cymbal.

You are familiar with the interior of an e-cymbal? Triggers are soldered to wires and the wires are soldered to the connector. You might open the connector box and check it but it is all very tiny.

If your work-around works for you keep it for a while and see if your new ride starts acting weird like it did when it was still a crash.

thank you for the photo and explanation. ill keep it some days as isand then ill change a bit the position of the ride so that i can easily crash it. whatthis all means is that i will try and experiment to have a better picture of the "problem" right now i am fine i can live with it, but since we all want to be perfectionists, ill see what i do. if i see the problem appearing again i will most certainly open the cymbal! thank you. if i have any thing more to add i will say it here. cheers

ok i am almost certain that my problem was just the cymbal protection rim ring was out of place. i put it back in and all is fine. wonder if this has happened to anyone
