Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I'm thinking of converting from Roland to 2Box.

I was thinking of going down the VST route and using my Roland module to trigger Toontrack SD2, as the sounds would be much better than the Roland module sounds.

But if you can load multi-layered samples into the 2Box, does that mean that I could just buy SD2 and load the drum samples from it into my 2Box?  Would the kit then sound just like a Roland module triggering SD2 from a laptop?  Would that work?  Or is there some problem here I'm not aware of?

Thanks for any help,
Tom

no it won't.
you can only convert wave files to the 2box dsnd file format.
The sound files of the AVATAR set which come with the Superior drummer 2.0 are encrypted and are not in wave format.
The files of the ezzy drummer sets are in the wave format but still encrypted. You can't play them with a player.

You can create a midi file, play it through SD2 and render the output to a wav-file. Several people here are creating Dsnd-files in that way and it works good. So in general it works but since the 2Box-editor is unusable for that you need to buy DSoundtool.
