General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Drumit5 mark II - features
Last post by Marcozum - May 01, 2024, 03:50:03 PM
Hi all,
since I have in my plan to buy shortly a drumit 5 mark II I have some questions to help me to decide. Consider that actually I have a TD30 set and module (so a good product) and I have to decide to change the sound module or not.

- Is drumit 5 fully compatible with hi-hat VH-13? Are the hi-hat splashes configurable.
- is the choke function available for Roland CY-14C (with a realistic tightening of the cymbal instead of using an external "midi choke note") ?
- As I understood the module don't have a reverb engine onboard. Is it confirmed? How the best solution to solve it in an easy way (I suppose that a solution is modifying all the samples and reload them wet on the brain but I think it could be a bit tricky and definitive since, once applied, I cannot reduce or increase the reverb)
- is easy to convert and load vst libraries (I already have a SSD5 library) on the module?

Sorry, probably some of these questons are already been discussed but I haven't found it in a clear (yes/not) way.

Thanks in advance to whom would lke to help me and advise me!

Hola

https://zourman.com/products/roland-hi-hat-conversion-modules-for-2box/

Not yet, gonna try this week as I have been away gigging all weekend. Back home this evening. I'll be sure to chime in with how I found it.

It could be the reason I go to the shop near here with a Ddrum4 SE module just sitting there gathering dust!

Thanks a lot!
I know Lustark and Anders's work, but never had the occasion to use their products. I was interessed by the Zourman hi-hat converter until I found a Clavia pad with the Hall effect sensor.
Did you download ddrum4ui and test it?

I don't own any 2Box, so I may be wrong, but I think It's not quite comparable to drumIt.
Ddrum4ui does not manage (yet?) the organization of kits like drumIt does. Ddrum4ui only manages the creation and customization of sounds for the ddrum4 module, but in a much deeper way than drumIt does, especially in the multi-layer management thanks to the specific velocity and positioning parameters as well as the smart use of variations.
I've already created and tested in my ddrum4 hundreds of new sounds, most of them by mixing sounds from the Clavia soundbanks. I can confirm it's a very powerful tool for the Ddrum4 owners.
I've just uploaded a manual (english and french) to explain the features and the use of ddrum4ui.
The best is to download and play with it, you can use the pad simulator to hear your creations if you don't own a ddrum4 yet. The whole collection of Clavia sounds is available in the download page.
Last difference with DrumIt, ddrum4ui is available on Windows and MacOS, and is totally free...  ;)

Hi and thanks for the reply!

So it kinda works like Drumit app? I should just download it and give it a try (I will anyway at some point)
