Hi Deve ...
How many Drumit 5 modules has been sold ?
.... If it s not a secret , i ll be curious to know how many "Orange E-drummers " we are ...
Hi,
are you asking 2Box or do you want to count somehow? Its an interesting question but I guess there is no reason why 2Box should release their business numbers in a public forum.
I bought my kit end of december 2009 and i have a serial number around 630. So you could look for a serial number of a kit that was bought in the last few weeks. But then you still don't know if the series numbers were counted continually. Some companies skip serial numbers in case of facelifts or start series production for example with 400. Everything before is prototyping and/or pilot production.
What i want to say is that looking at serial numbers might not be the whole truth.
Regards, Manfred
Bought it about 3 months ago and my number is:
02056
56 kits produced in february ;-)
The earlier MKI used kit I bought ... my module ser. no.:
Under 200
My new module I bought in Aug. 2011:
Over 2200
... i hope they gonna sell a lot more !!!
we 2boxers have to make more promotion for this great product !!!
maybe it s the orange color that makes some people hesitate....
its the orange color that made me buy it!!!!

its the orange color that made me buy it!!!!
then you were really lucky to like this colour !!! :patbat2box:
me , i like natural mapple colour .... they are from Sweeden ... why not an "all mapple shell " edition ... ;)
One has to wonder whether they would see more if they the kit was black or white...
I don't mind the color. I actually even prefer orange. It makes the kit alive. A mix of orange, black and grey is well balanced and it goes very well with black and white carpet. :)
My serial number is 01824, bought in May 2011 and it came with MK1 kick drum that has a lovely orange lit 2Box logo on the back. :)
Yep same here - it was the orange tipped the balance and persuaded me to
take a chance on the kit without auditioning it. :D
For me it took close to a year to decide to buy the module ..... i do love Orange , but it could have been yellow or sparkle green or anything ...
My decision was made on the specs (the Loop engine and the "open sound " architecture ) , the demo sounds and te DDRUM legacy ...
i was looking for something working like DRUMAGOG that i was using at this time .... the loop engine was one of the specs that made me decide at the end.... (I was a bit disappointed before os 1.20 ... :))
About the colour ... it s not only a question of taste , but a lot of musicians prefer to have something more discreet or on stage ...
Even Ferrari makes black or white cars :)
In term of design this color is a lot more consistent and logical.
It is better to achieve the look of something trough its function and nature rather then imitate the look (often badly) from another similar but fundamentally different product.
2Box made really well in that direction. Instead of hiding and copying an acoustic kit like Roland and Yamaha do, they assumed the electronic nature giving its unique and distinguished beauty. It could in fact help a lot e-kits by giving them their own "personality" , not just acoustics simulation.
Yes it could have been any punchy color, but I'm pretty that was a good choice has it will be accepted by most people and used in a pretty unique way.
Its more then just a color and taste matter :)
Anyways, it rocks ;D

Soundwise they do copy an acoustic kit

Hi There!
Renzo from Holland over here and owner of number 02703!
bought in November and tomorrow he'll be doing his first gig! ;)
Hi,
Bernhard from Austria here, received my set yesterday with a serial of
002747, and I am pretty sure it is not 1002747. So it seems they are shelled out one by one to the vendors (which fits with the fact that I needed to order in the UK to receive a kit before xmas.
Regards!
You can add me to the list! I just ordered a module today, hope to have it next week.
My module serial number : 2222.
Pretty easy to remember !
I got # 2727
Quite easy to remember as well.....
i got 2500 on monday.
Hi!
Serial number 2959, bought early 2012.
as time passes by amd people undrestand that 2box has the beast drum brain available, is better than td30 for one third of its price, they will become 2boxers more and more and more
something well drserved for the swedish lads. they are all amazing
I put my SN in my profile, would love to see what the most recent numbers are and who has one of the first modules. Would you be so kind to put your SN in your profile?
Done :)
That one is from a MKII kit that came with the MKI kick, now converted to MKII.
Nice one! Mine is a genuine MkII from Q1 2012.

This is the highest number so far. From roughly #2800 early 2012 to #4200 is not that high. You can also see how hard it is to make a decent profit. A person working for Zildjian stated the same on another forum. GEN16 is Zildjian but the actual numbers make the businesscase a tough cookie. Let's hope the production and sales got the boost 2Box deserves.
02806 here, bought January 2012.
Cheers
04192 recieved November 2013, ordered 7 months previously to that

Not difficult at all. Purchase date has nothing to do with manufacturing dates. ;)

Ahh yes...but "made" and "purchased by the consumer" are 2 very different things. ;) I'd like to know how many have been sold by retailers. :)
Most of them, structural shortage :P

I felt the same about the red bit when they were Ddrum. They have a knack for standing out. I saw a video of a chap on youtube who'd painted his orange parts black and I have to admit, they looked great. I saw on a recent Namm video they 2box were displaying Green pads (and probably others too) so I am not sure if it was a reflection of them going into shipping the pads at least in various colours.
Got mine 5 minutes ago ;D
05790
Yeah, congrats! And what a high number ...
And what's surprising is that it already had Boot 1.34 and OS 1.30 on it.
What's even more surprising is that the HH controller board I build and hand soldered, works fine :P even after cooking it at ~300c with a heat gun for much much too long :/
hello Guys,
I just had a second hand set, which is supposed to be a few months old... Just for curiosity, did u ever need to be in touch with the support of the 2 box or the distributor in your country? and do they ask for papers or just the serial no ?
Thanks,

Just the serial number. Their support is the best I have ever experienced.

Just got mine! Serial number is 5766 with boot 1.34 and os1.28 (which I quickly loaded 1.30).
So we are up in the 5k now, I wonder how many units Bengt has actually built?. Mine is 1762 and its still got the plastic cover on the mod still.

Hi!
I had recently the opportunity to visit Bengt and I can just confirm that the 2box have sold around 5000 units.
Best Regards
Angr77/ www.zourman.com
5000 units? That's a far cry from the 600 Ddrum3 made! But that was a very high end system in a time where electric drums were limited to Simmonds SDS2000 and Roland Octapads, Kat systems, Roland Octapads etc. Nowadays the market is saturated with electronic drums of all prices.
My recently bought Drumit5 has serial number 05081. Glad to be part of the Orange Organisation.
Just got my Drumit 5 Serial 6013...A few days of Hell setting up and fixing things that should've worked out of the box for a brand new kit, but getting happy as it comes together!
got mine a couple of months ago now Serial no:6184
My pretty Lady Lobster is 5503, April 2017
My Serial: 04335
My main board was replaced some years ago when the midi section was fried. (Serial on that board was 2089)
