Shortage on 2Box - annoying!

Hi everyone!

I have been waiting for my new 2box set for over 2 months. The distributor in Sweden has been giving new shipping dates every other week. I am getting tired of waiting. Whats is the problem? Anyone got a clue?

As far as i konow there is not one single new MKII set in any shop in Sweden...

From Thomann in Germany i got:
"We have stopped dealing with 2box as they cannot ship. We will perhaps offer it to our customers
when the have control of the logistics and shipping"

Annoying... >:(

HM

I waited for six months after my order, and the kit was definitely worth it! However, it is really sad if after two years or so, the company still has major problems with logistics.

The worst thing is that i sold my Roland TD-12 to buy the Drumit5... believing tha my "time in void" would be two weeks. Now i am playing on my old Yamaha 8000 Stage series from 1988... Scary! Me and my band had forgotten what it was like to use earplugs ;-)

Anyhoo - I would appreciate some comments and explanations from the producers! It is not ok to treat the customers this way. I guess it has something to do with economy and finance - but with pre-orders and orders from many directions i think it would work? Perhaps they are re-configuring tha hardware from time to time aso...?

But - Now i am looking forward to the latest date of arrival at my store - 20:th of may - Perhaps the 6:th time the sharm???!!!

MisterE

i ordered 3 weeks ago, the store (in holland) told me they deliver in may. We'll wait and see...
They probably don't want to create large batches to make fixes to the hardware.

ps: how is the company commercially doing? Is it called a succes? Is 2box here to stay?

To the question: IS 2Box here to stay?
I think so. Think about. Former core of DDRUM decides to start a new company with probably some investors supporting the business plan.
In general you see that popularity of Ddrumitfives are high, they built a good drumkit.
And yes they have problems with logistics, but it also means that there is high demand which is never a bad sign.

In general I am happy that they listen to the customer, try to compare that with Roland!

MisterE

another thing i'm worried about: samples from the commercial VST's. I guess they don't like the "open" architecture of 2box (just normal .wav files). Their own samples are protected. If they make a deal with 2box everyone can use their samples. So, they probably demand a protected format of the samples.
Is some information shared about support of those companies?

Same stock issues in Australia. Dealers keep saying "New kits will arrive in 2 weeks"
that was early April >:(

Don't get me wrong... I have played the Drumit5 at my local store - and i Love it... I have been playing Roland V-drums for 5 years - and was looking for the next generation e-drums. I think i have found it!

I have tried playing on the MK I at my store and the snare "stand/arm" was broken and something has happened with the high-hat triggering... but and i am hoping for the MK II hardware...

I also believe in the 2Box for the future! And the safest way is if our Swedish producers can make agreement with popular Sound Manufacturers /VST's. I think it's great what many of you are doing - trixing and doing magic with technology bringing 2Box closer to the best digital drum sounds - BUT. I think most of us want a turn-key-solution. We are willing to pay for convenience and functionality....

But for now - i am happy just to get hold of a set to play on... 8)

For those waiting, Edrum Attic turn over a lot of 2Box stock and have some full kits, modules, pads and parts, so it might be worth contacting them? They also ship worldwide.

I sent an email to 2box 2 days ago to ask them about spare parts and here was the answer:
QuoteSeparate parts will be available in about 3 month time.
Regards
Team2box
It might apply to full kits as well...

As far as stock on the website goes, it moves so quickly that it is often not put on the website, so always best to drop them an email.  :)
