Kit load time

Has there ever been a discussion on the time it takes for a kit to load into memory after it is dialed in? I send patch changes to the 2box via a sequencing program and have noticed that it takes an eternally long time for the kits to load (on order of at least a beat @ 120bpm). This is significantly slower than a lot of other state of the art gear I am running (including my old ddrum4). I assume its because of the size of the files that need to load, but am I correct in this assumption? Any suggestions of what I can do to speed this up?
This is an annoyance for me and I'm not sure there is a solution outside of a faster processor.
