Hihat "clap" not sensible enough

Hello friends...

About the hihat... I´ve played with the pegs and modified the aperture of the sensors so its comfortable to open and close with the pedal, but then, 3 undesired things happen:

1. I have to push the pedal too hard to get a "Hihat closed" sound.
2. The pedal doesnt "clap". If I just open and close the pedtal, it doesnt create continuous notes.
3. It also feels weird when I try an "open-hit & close" . It doesnt react or sound like a normal hi hat would.

How do you set it up to react properly?

Im going to look for this in the manual also, but right now Im on my way to work, so I tought you guys might have a better understanding of how the hat is calibrated.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Did you do modifications to the hardware?

As far as calibration, be sure to do the calibration with plenty of room between open and closed positions. And follow this tip after calibration: http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,3243.0.html

You won't see continuous notes if you just open and close the pedal without playing the cymbal with the stick.
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

Hi!
1. By "playing" I mean adjusting the height of the sensors to a comfortable position.
2. This kit cant clap the hihat unless I hit the cymbal?! Realy?  :-\  :(

I didn't say that. I meant if you watch the MIDI notes you will not see change when slightly moving the pedal position up or down without playing the cymbal. You definitely should get foot chick or foot splash when closing the pedal "all the way" without hitting the cymbal.... Do the extra tip I mentioned in post above for calibration. There is also a HH pedal sensitivity setting in the module. Page 51 of the 2Box manual.

Beyond that maybe someone on the forum will chime in that actually uses the original 2Box Hi Hat cymbal. I do not!

Thanks Jman, I will follow those callibration steps.

What do you use for the hihat then?

I found it very helpful using Midi Ox, when trying to get the hi hat working with EzDrummer 2, because it allowed me to see which notes were being hit, between edge, bow, and foot chick. It might be possible to route into the PC midi input, then back out into the 2 box module. Prior to do this I had a much harder time knowing if I was miss triggering the wrong samples.
