Well I am eventually for the first time going to play a full gig using my 2Box module with a mix of rubber pads, DIY mesh snare, Roland and Speedlight cymbals.

Just to set my mind at rest, what has people's experience been regarding reliability? I've played it for ages at home and in rehearsals over the last 18m or so without even a squeak once the original SD card had been replaced. I've got a spare duplicate SD card and a spare power supply, both tested and working!

Anything else I need to think about? I'm sure all our worst nightmares would be no sounds mid-gig!

What are your gig counts and reliability experiences? (here's hoping for encouraging answers )

I have a fairly early DI 5 MK2 module which uses a normal SD card- from what I read it sounds like Micro SD cards are now being used?? The first card was faulty but replacement is fine as is a duplicate which I've made up.

My question is how far should the card pop out when you're taking it out? Mine does have the spring action to eject it but the card only comes out flush with the casing so I have to use a thin tool to grab it and pull it out. This doesn't feel right to me, just wondering if it should come out further?

I've got a new card to use as a back up but, just so I don't dingaling it up, I would be very grateful for an easy step by step guide to copying the data correctly. I'm using my MacBook Pro with a built in card reader if that's important.

I've done an A2E conversion this year using a DI5 Mk2 module with a Speedlight hihat and ride. Both cymbals are lovely to play although as Welshsteve has mentioned elsewhere, hihat only single zone but I can live with that. Ride separation of 3 zones is excellent but I'm struggling with the edge sound being far too loud and can't work out how to bring it down. The manual doesn't seem too good on this. Any advice guys?

PS: the first SD card shipped with the unit turned out to be faulty, kept missing hits when playing multiple pads close together. I assumed it was a trigger problem and spent ages tweaking and resoldering them but an email to 2 Box support quickly identified a likely card issue, new one sent out and all is fab.

Hi all, I have a lovely DI 5 Mk 2 which plays beautifully with my DIY triggers but the line input volume  is way to low. If I try to play along to music from my phone it's drowned out by the kit sounds. Sure I could go and reduce all the pad volumes to balance it out but that is such a pain. Anyone else have this problem and more importantly a solution?

Hi all, just popped out for about 6 years, can see a few old names still kicking around here, the place doesn’t look to have changed much! I was docadiddle previously but the forum has forgotten me hence the new name.

I’ll try and keep this short guys. I did used to own the old 2 Box kit but moved it on for an Alesis DM10 (I know, what a shocker, funds release activity, not sure what came over me!) but which has now left in shame. I’ve been gigging with my acoustic kit but have decided that I want to change to an e-kit. I was seriously considering a TD 50 but have not heard one single example of a decent Roland snare sound so I’m of the mind to make my own pads from acoustic shells with either a 2 Box or a Pearl Mimic pro module. I did my own A2E conversion when I had the 2 Box and it triggered perfectly by copying the 2 Box pads- side triggers with the brass touching the underside of the mesh. I plan to do this again. The idea is to probably use Roland cymbals as I’ve tried them and they trigger really well on their native modules. I didn’t like the 2Box cymbals. Would consider other makes of cymbals, whatever works best.

That’s the plan. I now discover that there are TWO modules to choose from and am just looking for a bit of advice to see which one I should be looking at. I think it boils down to the cymbals. If I’ve read it correctly, the Drumit 3 seems to be ready to accept any make of cymbals out of the box. Is this correct and which cymbals work best? I’d like a 3 zone ride and a good hihat so again, what works best. To some extent I’m prepared to pay what I need as I’ll be saving by making my own pads.

Really appreciate your time in reading my question and any advice offered.
