And if you use the toms rims already for other things you can use the midi note of the bell of the crashes if you're using 2 zone pads

This works with any 2Box module and any edrumin connected to the 2box via midi in, you need to connect your center trigger snare to the edrumin and set the positional sensing to note instead of cc data, then you take your edge samples and assign the edge sound to an unused articulation or midi note of the 2box.
Via midi in from any device you can trigger any sound you like as long as it sends/receives the same midi note. I haven't counted the amount of midi notes but that's the amount of sounds you can trigger via midi in.
You don't need a DAW  to do this, just a 2box module and an edrumin
So in short:

Export the snare edge samples in SDSE using the extra articulations set to "all" in the Zones tab.

Connect your center cone pad to the Edrumin, calibrate it and then connect its MIDI out to 2Box MIDI in using a midi cable.

Look for a midi note that you're not using like a tom's rim and set this note in the edrumin pos sense setting

Assign the edge sound to this midi note in the 2box

Enjoy

Sounds too good to be true  :D  Does it work for module in midi mode (in DAW) or also as in standalone mode? It would be quite a revolution and a new life for otherwise long stagnant waters  ;D

Can you share some more details: which 2box module do you use, how did you interconnected Roland pad and eDRUMin to 2BOX, what settings did you use in 2box module, etc. Didn't quite get about articulation assigning to tom rim - what is it necessary for.

Thanks for innovation and sharing good ideas  :)

Nice! Opposite of what I was trying to do originally but eventually I'll likely need the same for my 2box. The EP is definitely a great little unit! The programming interface could use an update though!

Quote from: kenjwright on January 29, 2024, 07:17:08 PMHi Edcito! I had a similar need for timing (convert note to aftertouch pinch/release) and reached out to MIDI Solutions support. Unfortunately (at least at that time) the response was that the Event Processor does not provide any type of pause/delay event.

Too bad though! Could easily(?) solve some of these kinds of issues.

Cheers!

I bought it and now I can choke my 2box cymbals via midi in from a roland td-27, I spent 5 minutes max to program it to convert the roland aftertouch to the 2box choke note.

I have a spare roland FD-9 so I connected it directly to the 2box and will use it to trigger splashes using the same hihat notes. Also the TD-27 has a gate setting that helps filtering the note off event so you don't get always chick and splashes at the same time.

Cheers!

Hi Ken, any idea on how to accomplish this using the Event Processor? Since 2box doesn't have a note for the splash how can I achieve for it to trigger a chick note 47 and a splash note 47 as well? I can't find a setting that uses time in the event processor.

I had played more kits from The Fields of Rock using SDSE, so far none glitches like the one above, so it's also the samples and how they were recorded/edited I suppose.
The Fame Editor still has some bugs, for instance, the hihat closed edge and bow are not created correctly so I get open sounds on both, also the ride bell is not created correctly either so I can't play the bell.

Here you can listen to my findings:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Apbbfhss1Va_hoNqeUcxNz0mTr0BFg

the first part is with kick voice set to poly, the second part to mono, same pads, same 1.40 OS, same kit, same SD card.

I just rendered a kit from Superior Drummer 3 expansion Fields of Rock, it's the Stormtrooper kit of the Live part, used SDSE to render the wavs and the Fame Editor to create the dsnd files, the original size with SDSE is around 860MB, with the Fame editor it's only 362MB so I wanted to see if the latency and stuttering is due to file size (which I already discarted a couple of years ago but anyway) the result? Playing the kit just becomes impossible, the module just robocops and stop functioning after playing 30 seconds a pattern. So I restarted and set the kick voice to mono and it was playable again, this was using a 64 Sandisk Extreme SD card, so  I then tried the stock 4GB micro Sd card that came with my drumit 3 to see if it is the SD Card (which again I tested too a couple of years ago and found it was not the case but anyway) so I copied just the kit and the 1.40 OS, nothing else, result? same thing, setting kick to mono was again the only solution, so it's not the SD card either, it's really something to do with the kick part which is the base for all the notes.
I turned off the XTALK settings for all the pads. Pads were set correctly to roland pads and cymbals PP and CYPS.
