BURNIN AMBITION

hi there
i didnt know what would be the best place in the forum, for such a thread. but i think this would be the best place

after reading all the issues of digital drummer, i can tell they are doing some excellent work there, so we should have a thread where we can discuss their articles in one place and not scattered all over the forum, and also perhaps we could make suggestions for future comparisons tests, articles etc to digital drummer and perhaps these excellent people hear our thoughts after reading this thread

they have tested rides, crashes, snares, mesh heads sticks, practically everything there is to test, and mind you, they always check how everything works in a 2box brain, which makes, this thread perfect in this section i think.

one thing i would really want to see in the future, is a comparison between mesh heads, including the 2box original mesh head. so that we can have a clearer view of what every mesh is all about, since we all have used the 2box mesh heads.
i know that 2box mesh is way more silent than all the other mesh heads dd has reviewed, but also a bit more bouncy. having a comparison between all them would ghelp everyone understand their needs

and id like to add that it would be even cooler if this comparison would at some point expand in only kick drums. it would be a very difficult comparison ,because the parametres would need to be many. but perhaps also, digital drummer could compare the 5 most used kick drums, like 2box kick drum, kd-80, kd9 etc with different beaters each time. for example in all kicks tennis ball beaters, or perhaps a pearl beater etc (most common beaters in the market), and using a falam or not.

just my ideas and thoughts.
i dunno how this stuff works, if digital drummer magazine have all these kick drums mesh heads beaters etc, in their stock to review, (i hope they do have them), but even if they dont i hope somehow they could have those samples to help us in our quest to make our 2box drums perfect for our hands and feet (which is perfect but we always want to make it even better and better and better)

apologies if this thread seems irrelevant to some. i thought it would be a good idea...

i am closing with a big thank you to bengt and deve for making this drum set and drum forum unique and amazing. have a good day

has anyone used this beater?
http://www.drum-tec.de/drumtec-soundabsorbingbeater-p-1574.html
especially u alan since you have tested almost everything there is...
i have never seen such a beater. by the looks of it, there should be less unwanted bounce (aka double trigerring) on the mesh surface, and less bounce. but dunno....
any info would be awesome

alan, i have a question. i was eager to read about the regal tip new sticks. but now i am confused. i read that they fill the gap between nylon tips and wooden tips.
in general nylon tips have more rebound, better stick definition, and more volume

you tested these sticks on mesh and plastic cymbals. and as you say they are fine.
have you tested them in acoustic kit as well? do they have more rebound than normal nylon tipped sticks? cause that is what i understand from your article, but i may be wrong. because it isstrange if they have more rebound?
are they really somewhere in the middle between nylon and wood tips?i am a bit confused. thank you
btw nice new issue. love it

Hi BA,
Firstly, congrats on accessing the May issue. It isn't yet officially live and is still in final testing. Readers will get an email alert when it officially launches.
On the Esticks, no, I didn't test them on acoustics - but obviously, they're designed primarily for acoustics.
I think they play really well on edrums - especially on mesh where they have just enough rebound.

BURNIN AMBITION

thank you very much for the response my friend

so from your words i understand they have less rebound. that is good. very good. ill get a pair myself to check them!!!!

i hope someone brings them over to greece as i cant find them here.

i think the sticks i will get now are a pair of  thre regal tip speed ex and i will also get pro mark mike portnoy sticks. they also seem to be the right size for my liking. long and thin. i only wish the vic firth quest thompson sticks came in nylon.
i will check these sticks in both acoustic kit and my 2box kit and soon will add my opinion here guys!!!

as for digital drummer, amazing issue again my friend. keep up the good work
