Cymbalism has said the Hoshino has stated that it will be late August now. Seems ther was some things that needed changing. Not with the 2Box itself...but with the Tama hardware that comes with the kit now....at least that is what I was told by an extremely reliable source. ;)

I ordered my kit June 3rd in Vancouver, Canada.

Called Long & McQuade last week and said the purchase order had been processed by the distributor in Montreal. The sales guy told me it could be a week or a month as they are at the mercy of the distributor.

When I ordered the kit, the sales guy didn't know what I was talking about, so he phoned asked the drum guy who was in another part of the store for some other details. He said the customer is looking for the Roland 2box vdrum kit....I'm like no, no the company is called 2box, you have them listed on your website. He then looks it up on the website and goes hmmm..interesting I'll have to scope this out more  :o

Hoping I get them soon. Any other Canucks can sound off on how long they waited for their order?

I called Hoshino less than two weeks ago. They showed the first inventory coming in late July. I would expect them, as a responsible company,  to take a fair amount of time QCing the first shipment.

Re buying in other countries: Warrantees are nearly always country specific. Distributors can and often do refuse to service products that they did not sell even when the customer is willing to pay for the repair.

I was told buy Scott at Cymbalsim, just this past week that Hoshino said the date for distribution the US is still projected to be late August.

Comrade Hairy

Does anyone have any experience with the non-mesh type heads that will be shipped with the Tama distributed kits?

I'm just wondering if I should go ahead and order mesh heads from the get-go and if so, if I should have them ready for all drums or just snare or snare and toms.

I played them and liked them. http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php?topic=1626.msg14958#msg14958
If it were me, I would wait and just use the kit with the heads it comes with. You can always change heads later if you decide.

Wow...this  sucks.  :'( Must still be the the accompanying hardware issue thing maybe? From what I understand the TAMA  gear that it will come with is supposed to be very nice once everything is sorted. I'm still not sure why the modules and individual pads(hats & cymbals) would be delayed though.....unless they think that would ruin the market for the complete kits? Hmmm....it's not like this is a new product though...just new packaging and hardware. I guess that's just the price you pay when you want world wide distribution. Unfortunately....I think this may hurt the market demand for these a bit as folks tend to go other directions with their money because they get tired of waiting.  ::)

There were delays years ago when 2Box first came out with Drumit Five. After those delays and the kits/modules finally getting out to the customers .... the company was very attentive to free updating of the software frequently to bring better and better features and response along with additional free sounds, songs, loops, etc. To me it has been proof as to the care and integrity of 2Box. In those respects I think Bengt/2Box have been outstanding and I have been more satisfied than with the other brands I have owned. But since the company is still relatively new and small compared to the big names I am not surprised that there are problems getting the initial shipments ready and out to the distributor/retailer. Hopefully once things begin to flow it will be similar to the first releases years ago and it will be initial growing pains only.

All of us in the US that bought the 2Box module or kits years ago had no option of buying from the US. It took a little research and effort to own 2Box in the US. I first bought a used kit from the UK, and that by asking a vdrums.com forum member that I knew over in the UK (computerman) to pick up the kit for me and ship it to me since the seller did not want to ship the kit. So I am a little surprised that some of the people that are on the waiting list and buying the module separate haven't just taken the option of buying from Europe where there are still some available from retailers there. The price, while a little bit more than Cymbalism's price in the US is still no more expensive from Europe than what I paid years ago for my second "new" module. All I am saying is if anyone is like me and after making the decision is not patient to wait ... just bite the bullet and get one from Europe. J

I bought my 2Box kit from Scott over at Cymbalism Music literally the day he took the kits off his website because of the cease-and-desist order.  I called him and asked what the deal was and he basically said I had two days to decide if I wanted to buy one -- and so I decided right there and then.  I actually thought about buying two and selling one because I figured there would be another drummer like me who wanted one -- and just wasn't aware.  My wife overruled that rather quickly.

Anyway, it took a week to receive it and no joke -- these drums are the gift that keeps on giving.  You forget how good they sound and how fun they are to play until you play a kit from another manufacturer.  Case in point, I was jamming with this guy about a month ago and I asked if I should bring my acoustic or my electronic drum kit.  He said neither as he had one at my place.  It was a Yamaha DTX700.  Holy cow.  There is just absolutely no comparison.

Likewise, I was at the Guitar Center the other day to buy a cable -- and I played a Roland TD-20 -just for the hell of it.  This kit looked beautiful, even though it was a little beat up.  The hardware was really nice and well made.  It played well too.  However, the sound was just awful -- contrived even.  It reminded me of why I got rid of mine.

And its not just my ears only regarding the 2Box.  I eventually agreed to join a band a few weeks back (thus the trip to GC to buy a cable) - and I told the singer/guitarist in the band that I was bringing over my ekit.  He was really hesitant because he hated they way edrums sounded, and the bass player concurred.  Well, when they heard my 2Box they were in grinning ear to ear.  Nice!!!

So thank you 2Box.  Thank you Scott from Cymbalism Music too!!

Yep....just got my second module Cymbalism not too long ago. Scott'a nice guy....caught wind of a lead...hunted it down for me.....seized the opportunity...and now I have the first one sold in the US since the distribution deal. I was very fortunate as this delay would have drove me bonkers. I'm sure I would have gone the over seas route if this deal had fell through. Got my first one from Lorrie at Pintech via Canada....

While this may be off the topic it's relevant to your comment, fulmr, and judging by the size of JMan's kit, I'm assuming that you guys have two modules as a means to have expanded kits.

Is this correct?  Or did your first module have issues?  (I hope that is not the case)

I'm just bummed I have to another 4 months, but I'd rather wait then settle for something else.

Interesting find on this french site, where it shows a deadline of October 4th for existing stock...at least that's what it looks like

I'm not sure exactly how many 2Box modules or kits are left out there until the new batches come in. These are the places that at least say they have 2Box stock:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/2box.html  (both new and B stock modules)
http://www.drum-tec.de/modules-2box-c-76_188.html
And a 2Box kit from Poland on eBay that ships to the US for $50
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2BOX-DRUM-IT-FIVE-MKII-Electronic-Drum-system-NEW-/140995287260?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20d3f958dc#shId
And not sure about stock but worth contacting:
