Ill cut to the chase on this one. I purchased a 2box module and hi-hat from Canada (I live in the US) and was wondering if the box coming from Canada is North American Compliant or are they only manufactured and distributed at 220-240v? Need to know soon as the item was shipped yesterday. PS., I did contact the seller and they did not know.

All 220V .... As far as I know. I bought a new power adapter for mine. This is what I got:

Isn't JMan's advice sufficient enough?! He makes his own cymbals!!!!   ;)

Im freaked out about blowing something due to lack of education. Plus, being in the US, I don't have the convenience of a local distributor.

It SHOULD say on the module the required mA and voltage... We have the same trouble here... everything is 240v!

Do some research ..... I did. It tells you the adaptor specs needed on the 2Box website. I'm in the US and have been using that adaptor for 4 months.... There aren't a whole lot of 2Box users in the US ... but I'm sure if you can find just one other US 2Box user, they'll know more than me ....  ;D later, J

Hi,

As a Drumit 5 user in Boston, I posted this a while ago and it should be exactly what you are looking for.

... and in the manual. :) And I don't know about your module, guys, but on my module power supply specifications are  written right there next to the power input. :D

Thanks, as I mentioned earlier the power adapter I bought and use works great, but now I have an additional brand and source for a compatible power adapter that can be used in the U S. Those can be ordered directly from Mouser by the way and are cheaper when you go direct:

So let me ask this: what would be best to purchase, a power adapter or a step down converter? I figure I could go with the adapter and purchase a better surge protector for the same price as the converter

ok the 2box came today! So I believe the unit came with the appropriate power supply. Its probably pretty obvious that this is the right power supply for NA, but when dealing with electricity, the few things I understand about it suggest not to fuck with it. don't know how to insert a pic, so here are the specs: Input: 120VAC 60Hz 15VA; output: 18VAC 0.56A 10VA.

One quick thing. Th back of the 2box says 18v 9va but the plug output shows 10va. Any ideas?

i think 9va is the minimum required by the unit ... the power supply must have at least this power...  more isnt a problem...

it s like a 60w lamp plugged on a 220v ac plug capable of 3600w (16A) ... it wont blow ...

Yep edtc's advice is the same as what i got from a specialist electronics store, only yesterday, coincidentally. I was trying to buy a new 9v ac supply, and the specification said 1 vA, but I could only get 5 vA, which i was told was fine.

This was for a reverb effects unit.
