there is a new post from the 2box developers in this thread regarding the cymbal triggering issues:

actually i play mostly with closed headphones, so my perception of the noise is a bit skewed...

being more solid, the cymbals are louder than the heads.

i would think that removing the hard foam would make it easier to damage the kick drum head if you play hard.

the snare and tom heads are very quiet. of course there is more noise if you play on the rims, but that's unavoidable really.

the kick drum is definitely the loudest part of the kit, but you can work around it by turning the gain up and playing it softer if you want to be really quiet (or you could remove the hard foam, as somebody else on the forum has done).

there are definitely 3 cymbal inputs (plus hihat), and 4 tom inputs...
#546
either the kit in the shop didn't have the latest firmware update (which enables much better hihat response), or it wasn't setup properly...
#547
+1 to that!

it really cramps my style not being able to play all three!

if you are using the kit as a MIDI controller, it wouldn't be too hard to filter the incoming MIDI and map simultaneous rim+snare hits to an extra note...

it will help to use a program to check what MIDI messages your computer is receiving...

some free options:

if you are on a Mac, try MIDI Monitor:

for Windows, there's MIDI-OX:

they are definitely working on the issues...

i don't use Cubase so i can't help with exact instructions, but it should be fairly straightforward. it's simply a matter of multiple tracks sharing the same MIDI input...

you're right, i'm sure the main rubber isn't meant to be glued, i was talking about the centre disc. you say yours is like "foam"? my centre disc is very firm, much harder than the play rubber...
#552
was the rubber glued to the metal in the centre?
#553
from what's been said, the Yamaha cymbals are not completely compatible anyway, so they're not really a solution...
#554
when you've made edits in the trigger page, pressing the Unit button should take you back to the Mix page, where there should now be a question mark after "Save?". pressing the button above it should then save your settings.

it does for me anyway.

definitely make sure you have the 1.04 firmware installed.

once you've set the pedal down and pedal up points in the module, i find it helps a lot to then move the hihat further up the stick, so that you have a larger distance where the hihat is sensed as being fully open...
