Title: What do you use to mount the drumit 5 module ?
Post by: SHwoKing on December 07, 2011, 09:49:37 PM
I've planned to get a 2Box module in a couple of months along with a custom kit (Diamond drums + A to EZ cymbal) and i wonder what I can get in order to keep the module close enough from me without using a rack.

Roland is selling the PDS 10 and I wonder if it is suited to mount the 2Box module on it or if someone have another solution.

Thanks

You can buy the module clamp here:

At £50 it seems VERY EXPENSIVE though, perhaps you can find it cheaper elsewhere...

I had an extra Pintech universal edrum module mount plate laying around. So I used that for my 2nd module. I had to drill new holes to correspond to the mounting screws of the Drumit Five, but it works great. Mine is mounted on my rack with a rack clamp, but once you have a module mount plate on the module you just need a multi clamp to attach it to a cymbal stand or tom stand etc...

Pic of the module mount with new holes drilled about halfway through the thread:

Handy multi-clamp for stand mounting:

Oh, and in answer to the PDS-10 stand .... that and most module mounts have the 4 holes .... pretty universal for most edrum modules including drum modules, HPD-15, SPD- S ... Roland, Yamaha, Alesis modules etc....
the PDS-10 has holes same as that Pintech universal mount I referred to .... so NO that module mount would not mount the module without some modification like I did to the Pintech mount ... The mounting holes are different on the 2Box module as you can see from my pics.

Thank you both for your answers.
Things are quiet clear now.
Module mount plate and multiclamp seems the way to go but i'll have to check once I have gather everything together.

I cannot find a Pintech module mount here in Europe so I'll go for a Roland MDP7 to mount the module on a rack.

It's quiet the same plastic mount that Yamaha provides with the DTX900 module.

I Will have to drill it but that's not a problem.

ALESIS is selling a cheaper modulemount than Roland ....  It s listed 9,90€ by Musicstore ....

http://www.musicstore.com/fr_FR/FRF/Alesis-Module-Mount-/art-DRU0024103-000

You ll just have to drill new holes for the 2BOX module ....

I used an el cheapo laptop stand lower base with tubing from cymbal stands and rack tubes together with a no name multiclamp, the 2box clamp and module mount. :patbat2box:

I've done away with my rack since it's a flimsy Mk I.
My solution is a Gibraltar cymbal arm/tom L-arm clamp attached to a stand. The spade shaped hex-bar from the module will fit snugly into it. I use a clamp that swivels at both ends for easy adjustment.
