Has anybody extracted the drumsounds form Apple´s Mainstage och Locig Pro and tried to use it in the module?
In that case did it work well or was it a waste of time doing so?
No need when you have a broad selection of VST's out there like AD2, SD3, SSD5 etc.
For me who hasn’t got these VST it would be a lot cheaper with the Logic Pro sounds then by the VST’s first.
But what you get from logic drummer are stereo files isn't? you don't get separate channels for every drum/cymbal. Edit: I just checked Logic and you in fact get individual tracks in the "Producer Kits" Library, in that case if you're comfortable with logic and understand how a 2box sound is created then it's worth a try.
Hi!
You could quite easily create your own 2box.dsnd samples from Logic Pro X. (takes about a hour to do it...)
1. If you use the fantastic DSOUNDTool http://shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/ (http://shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/)... first, it can create a midi file with all velocities for a special note. You can select which note...and how many layers you need. (Max is 99 layers - and you can select the time between the samples)
2. This midi file can then be imported to Logic Pro X. (To a virtual sound track)

3. Then you just use a good sound from the drum section in Logic. I took the Sunset #3 snare...and to do something unique...I added some effects like a reverb + plus a chained gate.

4. Export the whole thing as one wave file (16 bit PCM, 44.1kHz) from Logic Pro X.
5. Use the DSoundTool to create the dsnd file - select - snare - pick the Zone 3 Head - and select your wavefile from Logic.
Follow the dialog...save it as *.dsnd file!

6. Ready! (You could also redo the whole thing in Logic Pro X and also add a rim sound also from the same snare...or the rest of the drums in Logic Pro X)
7. Result: https://zourman.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Drumsample_Gated2.zip (https://zourman.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Drumsample_Gated2.zip) - Hope Apple does not kill me for this...

ANGR77!
That´s great
Thanks alot for the info and help.
I will try to "sample" some sounds from my TD-30 this way and do a .dsnd file and see how it works

The td-30 samples are not multilayered.... you can create a dsnd with 200 samples but if they are not multilayered/round robin'ed you'll end up with an AK-47....

I’m not sure about that.
If I record say the snare with different velocity the sound is different.
Say I record it with velocity on the midi file to 120 and then one with 20 and gain so both files are -1dB they won’t sound exactly the same. So I hope this won’t be an machine gun sounding .dsnd file.
Right, if you record the audio output from a Td-30...with different velocity...Roland will not machine gun...and when the sound are finally stored in 2box...they will definitely not machine gun...

I don't know, too much hassle to create dsnds from some plastic sounds.... if you have a 2box you are wasting this by sampling a td-30... just buy addictive drums or ssd5 and sample those instead...

Have you heard the sound from the TD-30?
Which of then do you think are plastic?
I’ve used my module live many times and never heard anybody complained about a plastic sound.
I have to agree. I don't know why you'd want to sample Roland drums. They are far less expressive than the 2Box sounds with only a couple of velocity samples. To each their own, and you can certainly do it but the quality compared to stock sounds (let alone 3rd party libraries) will be below par.
