the leather of the floor was ripped? you mean that your mesh head is broken?

Hi people, I've read several post with this same issue, and now that my set is supposed to come soon, I'm wondering how resistant the meshes are?

I've read that mainly they're broken due to strong strokes or broken-tip sticks, but in normal conditions, how long do they last? Are 2box meshes as resistant as roland's and yamaha's?

Are these broken meshes covered by the warranty?

I think there are only a few dodgy heads that have slipped through the cracks of Quality Assurance...I guess it's very difficult to test or even see if it's going to happen before it does.

My advice is stay calm, and see if the shop you bought it from can get a replacement head to you quickly - or send a private message to Scott (http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php?action=profile;u=14) at Hand in Hand Distribution.

cheers
Tom

I have my kit since Xmas and I spend 10-12 hours a week playing it - so far no problem with the mesh heads

Wow, if I had played drums 10-12 hours a week.... What a good drummer I would be!  ::)

I tried the T-Drum heads and they seemed a little thinner than the ones that come with the 2Box, a little more bouncy too.  I prefer the 2Box heads.  Roland heads are nigh on indestructible but of course they cost a lot.

How about Hart?  I hear their Kontrol Screen heads are nice.

A while back I bought a set of mesh heads for my DD4 - 3x10", 2x14" I think it was from Arcade Music (http://www.arcademusic.co.uk/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=mesh&x=0&y=0) (actually via ebay but you can get them direct too) - they were unbranded Arbiter heads and they're great. Good price too.

I've had one mesh head break (was broken out of the box), but the rest are still working since august last year (which is a really long time for me, if they were regular heads I would've had to replace them a long time ago. I've got a roland head on the one that broke, but I really hate roland's heads 'cause they're so freaking stiff...

How about drumtecs heads (www.drumtec.de)??? They have both one and two ply heads. Anyone that have tried them?

I tried the 2-ply heads. There are strong, but noisier than 1-ply heads. Every head gives a little snare buzze due to the 2 plies of mesh

You think DrumtecĀ“s 1-ply are as strong as Remo (Roland) mesh heads? I only have experienced their heads.

what the booze is? is it related to rebound? the roland meshhead 2-ply have better rebound than 1-ply?

I don't think rebound has something to do with 1 or 2 ply

Hi,
recently I bought a 12", 2ply, drum-tec design mesh Head and a 10" 2-ply ddt Head.
The drum-tec design Head is a little more noisier than a 1-ply Head(compared to a t-drum-head) . But IMHO it is acceptable. The Buzz is only slight. They are made of a very fine material. The rebound is less than that of a t-drum Head.  More natural.

But the ddt 10" 2ply Head is too loud. The material is more coarse and the sound they make is not acceptable. The rebound is quite bouncy. (not natural)
I will send it back.

Now I ve got a question.
What about the roland heads. Someone knows for sure it is 2-ply?
Cause I can't remember the buzz when hitting it last time I been to musicstore.
If they are they must produce a sound when hit.
Thanks for any reply

What mesh head can you  recommend?
The design heads are good IMHO.
bye
Franz

mesh head of the bass drum 14" was ripped. do you suggest me to replace it with what? i want something resistant . as far as i am searching, i am between the 2ply and 1ply(roland heads, pearl mesh head and the pintech heads). every opinion is welcome

My experience is that the 2ply heads are strong, but a bit noisy. I had 2 of them on an acoustic tomtom and they both gave a snare like hiss.

1-ply heads are less noisy but not so durable. Since the 2Box kick pad has foam underneath (meanwhile: old pad style) you can try to buy a 1-ply head again. T-drum and Drum-tec heads are a good choise.

BTW: why did the mesh head rip?
