Title: "Cured" Gold 20 Kick
Post by: edtc on January 20, 2012, 01:38:04 AM
hi

i noticed there was a problem with the stock Gold 20 Kick DSND ... highest layer had 9 ms of silence before the sound causing latency when you hit hard ....

So i retrimmed the whole stuff in soundforge , removed a layer that sounded weird to my ears and rebuilded it with DSOUNDTOOL ....

You just have to unrar and replace the old one in your kick folder .... here s the link:

cured Gold 20 Kick.rar (http://www.4shared.com/rar/IukRvfDf/cured_Gold_20_Kick.html)

by the way Louis , when i tried to make the dsound with a long wav with all hits , i only got one zone with 31 hits.... really strange ....  that s why i used soundforge to trim it .... here the link to the wav file so you can try it if you want and tell me what i did wrong ...  Gold 20 Kick2.wav (http://www.4shared.com/music/yyDM55Bo/Gold_20_Kick2.html)

Thanx for sharing,

i tried it myself once and got the same problem as you. I trimed the file with audacity and made a dsnd file with dsoundtool and got one zone with 31 hits. So i never tried again.

Best wishes
Andreas

Hi -

Just for interest you could have trimmed the silence by opening the file
directly with the DSoundTool..... much quicker....
but then again you wouldn't have been able to edit the bad hit.

.... for what it's worth  :)
