Title: Suggestions for Triggering Acoustic Drums
Post by: rcprod on December 26, 2010, 06:04:37 PM
Hello,

I am considering triggering my acoustic kit for live gigs and am wondering which triggers you guys would suggest to use with the Drumit 5. (Either that or I could use the Drumit 5 drum pads with acoustic cymbals but that would require the purchase of an amp/speakers for monitoring by the other band members).

The DDrum triggers seem to be reasonably priced. The new Roland triggers look interesting, especially the dual zone trigger for the snare.

Thanks.

Yeah, original ddrum triggers or their ''clones'' T-drum (black) triggers
The first Roland triggers were bad, I am not sure about the new ones
If u can't test them, go for save with the ddrum triggers

I have tested the Ddrum triggers with the 2box module. It works like a charm.

How does the DDRUM double trigger for the snare work out with the XLR output from the trigger? Does it require a special cable?

you just need a stereo jack to female xlr ... skin signal is on the tip , and rim signal is on the ring...
