kit dance for live concert disco 70
« on: December 30, 2018, 07:18:51 PM »
Hello everyone I'll explain my problem. I have a 2box for quite some time and I have modified some sounds. I do dance live with the 2box but I can not find a sound kit that goes well for my genre. I explain it better, my keyboard player has a yamaha keyboard and when he puts the electronic drums of the keyboard comes out a sound, especially that of the kick , very compressed and with a very strong groove. I can not find anything in the 2box kits that looks like that sound. Do you have any suggestions to give me? Thank you very much or if you have modified some kit you can give me some advice? Thank you all

hello ,

i would suggest to sample the yamaha keyboard and convert it to DSOUND .

You have to record a 16 bit 44,1 audio file , with 20 to 30 velocity levels , from very loud to soft hits .
Leave a silence between hits so the software can easy find the "slices" .

Then load the DSOUND in your module and voilà ...

Download the editor and look at the tutorials there :    http://2box-drums.com/editor/

there is also this software for building DSOUNDS made by Louis , a 2BOX early user , called DSOUNDTOOL  . With this one you can simply put a wav file with all hits and it will automatically convert it to a DSOUND .

http://www.shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/

There use to be a lot of electro sounds on the 2BOX website , but they are gone :) .. i dont know why ...

I m sure someone on this community could share a link with those sounds .

Hi!

You could easily Records your Friends keyboard by sending 30-50 different predefined levels of velocity over midi from a DAW program...like Cubase or Logic. Record the results...chop each hit into a wave files using the dsoundtool or the DrumIt Editor. Both works...and it will give you a dsnd file which can be placed on the 2box module.

70ths disco...I had to google that...found a nice article about the subject in moderndrummer mag.

Zildjian (not A Custom), Paiste 2002, or Sabian AA lines
Bass drums were shallower, with the average kick being 22″ x 14″...wood beater...
Silver dot head on Ludwig Vistalite or Slingerland
single-headed “concert toms.”
Snare drums were often metal, either chrome or brass (à la the Ludwig Black Beauty), with the occasional acrylic model.

I also found that Addictive Drums has a nice ADPak called Vintage Dry...that felt like the good old days in my ears. :-) https://www.xlnaudio.com/products/addictive_drums_2/adpak/vintage_dry
