Hey guys,

I have a detached garage with no electricity. There's no way to use an extension.

Drumit 5 uses 18v AC, which is quite bad to get an alternative, but now that Drumit 3 used 12v DC, I'm thinking to use a battery, something like this one:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-12V-Portable-Super-Rechargeable-6800mAh-Li-ion-Battery-Plug-For-CCTV-Camera/202325356097?hash=item2f1b87ee41:m:mBcJWh98zCVKKk2xN7gmjcg.

Once Drumit 3 is 1A and the battery is 6.8A, I believe I would be able to use for around 5 hours safely.

What do you guys think? Will it work? Is it likely that it'll damage the module? I can consider to use a battery from a better brand if this is the problem.

Thanks!

With no answers I've go a bit scarred  :P

But I've bought another one that seems to be more reliable: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200W-146WH-Portable-Solar-Generator-Power-Supply-Energy-Storage-For-RV-BOAT/162996523113?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

It wasn't shipped yet, so I'll let you guys know if it worked once I received it  :drum2:

Hum, to be honest, no, I've just posted it here.

Well anyway I've received this battery (the other one was not available): https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/200w-Portable-Solar-Panel-Generator-Power-Supply-Energy-Storage-Battery/28014238414?iid=372211607007&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D52945%26meid%3De131dc4a3006451b83f18152a74e7c92%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D162996523113%26itm%3D372211607007&_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1

At first it didn't work well, but them I've found that the 230v (standard here in the UK) is not supported on this battery, so I've bought also a transformer from 110 to 230v like the one bellow and it worked!  :drum2:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USA-to-UK-110V-to-230V-Step-Up-Voltage-Converter-transformer-step-up-ac-mains/232068536781?epid=15012028287&hash=item36085cd9cd:g:qvIAAOSwFe5XyVnJ

Now I can use my 2Box on my garage. It seems that the battery will last about 6-7 hours per charge.

Good glad you were able to find a fix for this
