Hi Guys

I'm working on a diy edition of this: http://triggera.com/triggers/kick-beater-bix

My thought is to have it triggering en extra layer of sound to give my BD some extra boom, or maybe a tambourin or something lige that.

The plan it to have an small on/off switch mounted on for example the snare. I want it to have 2 jack females - 1 for the wire coming from the trigger and 1 for a wire to connect it to the module.

Can i find a switch like that any where? If not, what parts do I need to make it myself?

Kind Regards

IMO , any simple switch will do the job ... just connect it  to one wire and it will cut the signal ...

Only problem is you may have a sound triggered when you engage the switch ...

maybe you could have a program with no sound on the kick ( volume to zero ) an others with the sounds you want , and use a normal trigger ...  try both ...

Oh yeah, didn't think of the fact that it could trigg a sound when I turn on the box. But I could just incorporate that sound in my playing, like when I throw on the snare wires on my acoustic kit :-)

I've thought of the idea of just switching to another kit that is the same, but just with an added sound on the kick trigger. But I find it to hard to hit a specific kit while playing. In that regard, the knob on the module is really frustrating. And it sucks that you can't have a foot pedal for changing kits :-(

maybe you can try a A/B pedal like guitar players have ...

yes it should work ...

this one is even cheaper , and has more functionalities ...  http://www.thomann.de/fr/lead_foot_aby.htm

Well , you can do that but you ll need some extra gear   ... could be a midi keyboard , midi controller or midi footwitch , able to send program changes midi messages, and having a dual footswitch input ( for increase/decrease )... drum modules like alesis trigger I/O is suitable for that too ...

You could even program that with a computer if you play on backing tracks using a DAW .... depends what kind of music yo make ... if it s bluegrass you are stucked ...

There are also custom made solutions like this one i found with a bit of googling :

2box could make an os update so you can change programs with pad hits , but you ll lose a dual pad input just for that ...

Well have to se what 2box comes up with next ;)

Thanks for your help! I'll try that pedal in your link 👍🏻
